Many Americans Don’t Know The Companies Behind These Popular Brands

A relatively small number of multinational corporations control many of the brands people encounter every day. Companies such as Nestlé, PepsiCo, Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble, and Mondelez International produce a wide range of products, from food and beverages to household and personal care items, often under dozens of different brand names.

This pattern extends beyond grocery store shelves. In media and entertainment, a handful of major companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount Global, own a large share of television networks, film studios, and streaming platforms. As a result, what appears to be a diverse marketplace is often shaped by a concentrated group of global corporations with significant economic and cultural influence.
