Why Should You Buy the Thermaltake Arctic Gaming Desktop

High-end gaming desktops are as different from their low- and mid-range counterparts as a Kia Rio is from a Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. They’re both cars, but that’s where the resemblance ends.

As with automobiles, you don’t have to look under the hood to recognize that a gaming computer is high-end. Manufacturers create aesthetically pleasing, premium-quality cases with better airflow for their best models.

Inside that sleek case, you’ll find:

  • A high-end GPU, usually the latest generation of Nvidia or AMD
  • A premium CPU with multiple cores and high clock speeds that can handle resource-intensive tasks like gaming with ease
  • 16GB or more of RAM
  • A fast SSD for quick game loading and system responsiveness
  • A large HDD for storage
  • Support for CPU and GPU overclocking to further enhance performance

The first thing you’ll notice about the Thermaltake Arctic is that it looks really cool. The back of the case is white and the sides are made of transparent 55mm-thick tempered glass, so its three RGB fans really stand out. You can program them to display different colors and patterns that reflect your personality. You can also sync the lighting with whatever game you’re playing to make the experience even more immersive.

As you would expect the Thermaltake Arctic features powerful components, including an Intel Core i5-12600KF CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Instead of traditional air cooling, this gaming desktop uses AIO liquid cooling to cool the CPU more efficiently an prevent overheating during intensive gameplay. The case also provides excellent airflow, which helps prevent overheating.

The Thermaltake Arctic includes a one-year warranty.

Is the Thermaltake Arctic i360T R4 AIO Liquid Cooled Gaming Desktop Worth It?

We compared the Thermaltake Arctic i360T R4 AIO Liquid Cooled Gaming Desktop (list price: $1,999.99) to two other high-end gaming desktops: the Alienware Aurora R15 ($3,299) and the ASUS ROG Strix G15CE $3,199).

The three gaming desktops feature the following CPUs respectively: Intel Core i5-12600KF, Intel Core i7-13700K, and AMD Ryzen 7 7800X. The Thermaltake Arctic’s Intel Core i5-12600KF is a 10-core/16-thread CPU that’s considered to be a good choice for gamers on a budget. The Intel Core i7-13700K is a more powerful, 12-core/24-thread CPU, which is also more expensive. And the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X is the most powerful CPU of the three and, as you would imagine, the most expensive.

The Thermaltake Arctic features the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, which has a higher boost clock speed and more memory bandwidth than the Alienware Aurora R15’s RTX 3060 Ti or the ASUS ROG Strix G15CE’s RX 7900 XT. This allows it to render graphics at a higher fram rate and resolution.

The Thermaltake Arctic comes with 16GB DDR4-3600 of RAM, while the other two desktops have 32GB DDR5-6000. The DDR5-6000 may lead to improved performance in some applications because it has a higher frequency and bandwidth than the DDR-3600 and lower latency.

The Thermaltake and the Alienware both feature 1TB NVMe SSD. The ASUS has double the storage: 2TB NVMe SSD.

The Thermaltake Arctic and the ASUS ROG both feature AIO liquid cooling. The Alienware Aurora utilizes air cooling.

So, which gaming laptop should you get? The Thermaltake’s list price is just $1,999.99, almost $1,300 less than the Alienware and nearly $1,200 less than the ASUS. Of course, cost isn’t the only criteria you need to keep in mind. The AMD Ryzen has the most powerful CPU in this lineup, but the Thermaltake Arctic has a more powerful GPU. The Thermaltake has half the storage space as the other two contenders. And the Thermaltake and the ASUS have AIO liquid cooling, which is superior to the Alienware’s traditional air cooling.

The Thermaltake Arctic is an excellent high-end gaming desktop that merits consideration. You can check out the Thermaltake Arctic i360T R4 AIO Liquid Cooled Gaming Desktop deal on Amazon.
