As one of the best-known collectibles available today, Funko has been on a years-long hot streak which has led to rare items quickly becoming some of the most expensive Funko Pops available. Standing around 3.75 inches tall and weighing roughly four ounces, these plastic figures encapsulate some of the best movies, TV shows, and pop culture moments available today.
While many Funko Pops you find today are right around $10-$15 in cost, they have been known to cost upwards of $40. These are not unusual prices and both collectors and fans alike don’t generally voice a concern over the current price model.
However, it’s when you start looking at some of the most valuable and expensive Funko Pops available today that things take a turn from fun to serious. Any Funko Pop that stands out as one of the most valuable may very well require thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars before you can own one yourself.
Let’s take a look at some of the most valuable and expensive Funko Pops that only serious collectors can afford!
What Makes a Funko Pop Rare?
When a serious collector looks at a Funko Pop and attempts to put a value on it, they need to consider why it could be valuable. The likelihood is that it’s a limited edition and there are only a few that exist in the world.
Better yet, there is likely an even smaller number that exists in a condition level a serious collector would want to buy. For example, a good number of the most expensive Funko figures are ones that have been handed out or made for various comic-con conventions.
What’s most important to know is that the value of these figures can vary, potentially significantly, depending on which website is valuing them. However, Pop Price Guide is arguably the best resource for serious collectors when making a true determination of a Funko Pop’s current valuation.
Freddy Funko Stan Lee
- Memorializes Stan Lee
- Creator of many famous superheroes
- Perfect for fans of Marvel
- Available in Patina color
Upon Stan Lee’s death in 2018, memorabilia related to him as the godfather of so many beloved comic book characters skyrocketed in value. This includes autographed chrome and metallic versions of limited edition Superhero Lee figures that one owner attempted to sell on eBay for north of $100,000.
Only ten total pieces were produced and while the non-signed versions have sold for just under $500, one owner looked for the mythical six-figure number. While that number did not seem to materialize, at least one set has sold for $6,100, which still makes the Freddy Funko Stan Lee chrome and metallic figures some of the most expensive ever made.
The good news is even if you can’t find (or afford) the chrome and metallic versions, Amazon has the Patina variant available for right around $10.
Ken Griffey, Jr. Gold
Fans of baseball know that trading cards can go for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars and Ken Griffery, Jr. is one of these players. This is what makes it so unsurprising that a baseball player appears on a list of the most expensive Funko Pops only serious collectors can afford. What really helps the valuation is the inclusion of an autograph and if you can find one that has it, there is every reason to believe one of these can go for upward of $8,500.
The last one to come up for sale in March 2023 hit a sale price of $9,500 while one in November 2022 sold for $10,000. Even if the valuation has dropped slightly, there is still plenty of demand for this figure thanks to the popularity of the player long after he retired
Freddy Funko as The Joker
With an estimated value of around $13,190, Freddy Funko as The Joker is absolutely one of the most expensive Funko Pops around.
With only a few hundred in circulation, this glow-in-the-dark version offers considerable value and investment. According to the Pop Price Guide, the valuation has jumped fairly significantly since 2020 when the value was only around $2,000.
Over the last 6 months, the valuation has jumped from right around $3,000 to just shy of $14,000, which is an incredible increase in value. For this reason alone, the Freddy Funko as The Joker should be a high-priority item on any serious collectors list.
Alternatively, collectors can grab the 1989 movie edition of The Joker as famously portrayed by Jack Nicholson for $40 instead of spending thousands.
- From Batman 1989 as portrayed by Jack Nicholson
- Limited edition
- Complete with Joker 1989 makeup
- Bundled with plastic box protector
Freddy Funko as Venom
- Venom Eddie Brock collective
- Funko Pop named 2017 toy of the year
- Stands 3.75 inches tall
- Shows Eddie Brock becoming Venom
Only 24 pieces exist of this 2019 edition of the Freddy Funko as Venom Funko Pop figure.
For any serious collectors that manage to come across this version with the comic-con and limited edition sticker in the bottom right corner of the box, they should not hesitate to try and negotiate adding it to their personal collection. Like the Joker figure, Freddy Funko as Venom has skyrocketed in value over the last three years as it was around $5,000 in 2020, and in 2023 is estimated to have a value of just under $19,000.
There is one currently for sale as of 2023 with an asking price of $36,000, which is just shy of being double the current estimated value.
While not quite as rare, anyone looking for a Venom Funko Pop collectible can grab Eddie Brock right now.
Freddy Funko as Jamie Lannister (Bloody)
While Jamie Lannister may not have been anyone’s favorite Game of Thrones character, he very well may be one of the most expensive Funko Pop figures available today.
Only 12 figures exist of this bloody variant while another 12 exist that glow in the dark. Regardless of which version you prefer, they are both incredibly difficult to find, which helps increase their overall value.
As of 2023, the current estimated value is north of $19,3000, which is almost double the number the same figure saw in 2020. At its highest point, the Jamie Lannister figure hit just over $24,000. According to the Pop Price Guide, there are none currently available for sale.
What is safe to say is that the non-bloody variant of the Jamie Lannister Funko Pop goes for far less than the bloody version.
- Lannisters always pay their debts
- Perfect for your desk or shelf
- Collect them all
- A must-own for any Game of Thrones fan
Freddy Funko Buzz Lightyear
A beloved character in the Disney universe, the Freddy Funko Buzz Lightyear figure is a real gem for serious collections.
Only 25 Funko Pops sporting this design are known to exist having been given out at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2011, 2012, and 2013 with this specific model being one of the 2011 variants.
Like other figures on this list, the valuation for Buzz Lightyear has exploded over the last 6 months with the valuation jumping from right around $4,000 to north of $23,100. While it achieved a high at $35,000 back in October 2022, none are currently known to be on the market, which makes it a seriously difficult-to-find collector’s item.
If you’re still dead set on collecting Buzz Lightyear, the new pose figure is available for right around $25, far less than the more collective Freddy Funko model.
- Buzzy Lightyear's new pose
- Comes in a window display box
- To infinity and beyond
- Part of the Toy Story collection
V Metallic
It’s unlikely that a character from the 2005 action thriller V for Vendetta will be remembered by many collectors, but that hasn’t stopped this figure from finding a big-time valuation.
Released at the 2011, 2022, and 2013 San Diego Comic-Cons, the figure was a giveaway as part of a raffle to event attendees. Only 25 are known to exist and the figure is currently sitting at its highest ever value of $24,000.
As is the case with many figures on this list, none are known to be for sale with this specific valuation falling to one of the 12 that were released at the 2012 Comic-Con event. Of course, this number demands a completely pristine package that has never been opened. If you ever manage to get your hands on one, rest assured it’s a must for the most dedicated and serious Funko Pop collectors.
Of course, instead of spending thousands, pick up the V for Vendetta figure online at Amazon for right under $50.

- Will fit perfectly on any desk or shelf

A Clockwork Orange
Undoubtedly one of the best known among the rarest of rare Fuko Pop figures, the A Clockwork Orange glow-in-the-dark figure is a golden goose.
Having already set the record as the second most ever paid for a Funko Pop, one very dedicated collector paid $60,000 for one in 2022. Another figure sold for $32,439 in April 2022, which makes it no surprise that in May 2023, the value is holding steady right in the middle at around $48,500.
Featuring the lead character of Alex from the Kubrick cult classic, there is just something about this figure that asks collectors to pay whatever they need to get their hands on any of the 24 ever made. Even more value is assigned to the Chase Pop version that can glow in the dark. Should another one of these ever come for sale, it’s very likely it will pass its existing record.
This might be one of the most collective Funko Pops ever, but you can still get an Alex figure online for far less.
- From the iconic Stanley Kubrick film: A Clockwork Orange
- Features Malcolm McDowell as Alex
- Stands 3.75 inches tall
- Comes in a window display box
Freddy Funko as Tony Stark
- Glow-in-the-dark deluxe figure
- Captures the epic moment from Avengers: Endgame
- Battle-damaged Tony Stark kneels on base
- Comes in a displayable window box
I am Iron Man. When Robert Downey, Jr. uttered those words in the 2008 film that jump-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nobody could have known what kind of excitement was ahead. It’s also one of the reasons that this particular Funko Pop figure that was raffled out at the 2011, 2012, and 2013 San Diego Comic-Cons has such value.
As it stands today, there are only 12 known figures that exist in this variety. The rarity of this figure has been something of a legend as its most recent sale occurred in 2022 when it sold for $43,000 to infamous Funko Pop collector, GrailMonster.
Today, the value of this particular Tony Stark figure has decreased a bit off the 2022 high but holds firm right around $38,600 in May 2023. It was quite a dramatic increase when one surfaced for sale on eBay in May 2016 and sold for a mere $3,500. Today’s number is something only serious Funko Pop collectors can dream about.
Instead of spending so much on an exclusive Tony Stark figure, memorialize his last MCU moments with this Funko Pop instead.
Willy Wonka Golden Ticket
- From Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
- Charlie Bucket holding his golden ticket
- Don't drink the fizzy lifting drinks
- Stands 3.75 inches tall
Believed to be one of the rarest Funko Pops ever to come off the product line, the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket 2-pack is a must for any serious collector.
Featuring Willy Wonka and an Oompa Loompa, only ten boxes were ever distributed of this figure, which has helped create a sort of mysticism around this particular set. However, it’s believed there are six additional two-packs in existence that were distributed to various Funko employees though the company has never confirmed their existence.
What cannot be denied is the value of these figures or the joy some of the current owners must have felt as they found the Golden Tickets hidden in Funko-branded chocolate bars. Unsurprisingly, there are none for sale but the last time the Golden Ticket edition made the news was in May 2022 when GrailMonster purchased the 2-pack for a record-setting $100,000. Today, Pop Price Guide believes the value to be closer to $71,670 but you cannot deny this 2-pack is the most expensive Funko Pop in existence.
While it won’t have the same level of cache as the rare Golden Ticket variant, you can pick up Charlie holding his golden ticket for a whole lot less.
Wrapping Up
If you want to be counted among serious collectors exploring the world of the most expensive Funko Pops, you better bring your wallet. Better yet, bring your black American Express card because there are some models that require that level of free cash to be able to call your own.
The good news is that Funko Pop continues to release new figures every year, which not only increases the rarity of those already in existence but promises even more rare figures are on the way.
