- The 6 GHz frequency band, also known as the Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) band, spans 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz. This frequency band is the largest and can provide up to 59 20 MHz-wide channels.
If a manufacturer markets the 5 GHz frequency band as a single frequency band the Wi-Fi 6E access point will be called a tri-band access point. If the access point divides the 5 GHz frequency band into upper and lower bands, the access point is a quad-band access point.
