Funko has a POP! for almost every type of character including those found in comic books. The best Funko Pops for comic book collectors and fans come in a variety of sizes and styles. While most feature figures from Marvel or DC, there have been some surprising additions over the years.
Collecting Funko Pops Featuring Comic Book Characters
Funko has produced more than 2,000 figures in the comic book niche, but they all don’t fall under the same category. Here are a few things to keep in mind before diving into Funko POPS! based on comic book characters.
- Marvel’s official Funko POP category is called POP! Marvel.
- Funko also produces figures of comic characters featured in video games.
- Most Funko Pops of DC characters are in the POP! Heroes collection.
- While there are dozens of comic book publishers, only a handful have characters in Pop form.
- Funko comic book characters are also included with POP! Comics and POP! Comic Covers.
The 10 Best Funko Pops for Comic Book Collectors and Fans
Superman 80th Anniversary Funko POP!
DC recently began celebrating the 80th anniversary of beloved comic characters from their franchises. You can’t think of DC without picturing the Man of Steel, and our favorite Funko of this hero celebrates his 80th (human) birthday.
Funko POP! #251 features Superman flying in a classic pose. The trademark curl is present, along with a stand to show this figure off. It’s part of the POP! Heroes’ line, but a figure tied to Funko’s Specialty Series collectibles. If you like supes, you’ll want to consider the 80th-anniversary edition of Wonder Woman as well.
Iron Man Mark 1 Exclusive Funko POP!
The first movie in the MCU broke records and brought Marvel to the big screen in a whole new way. Iron Man put Marvel Studios on the map and this POP! celebrates a special moment in their history and Tony Starks.
Iron Man is a man of many suits. He traded in his bespoke suit in Iron Man 1 for a suit of armor with the Mark 1. Funko lets fans relieve that moment with Funko Pop #338. The figure arrived in 2018 as a Summer Convention Exclusive. It’s held its value well, and we expect that to increase in time as fans look back on the early days of the MCU.
- Marvel Studios 10th anniversary collectible
- 2018 Summer Convention Exclusive
- Limited Edition
- #338 in the Marvel POP! collection
Hellboy POP! Comics
Marvel and DC are the two biggest names in the comic book world, so it’s no surprise they have more Funko Pops than most franchises combined. Funko has a disappointing selection of figures from Indie publishers, but we’re thrilled this fan favorite made the cut.
Hellboy Funko Pop #01 is from the company’s POP! Comics collection. While there are five figures of the big red monkey, this one shows Hellboy in classic form. It was the first figure in this wave released in 2017 alongside a horned variant, Abe Sapien, Liz, and more. Big Red would make a fantastic addition to any comic book fan’s POP! collection.
- Hellboy with The Good Samaritan
- Standard-size 3.5" figure
- The first character in the POP! Comics series
- 2017 Funko release
Batman Pop Heroes Mega POP!
It’s safe to say Batman is one of the most popular comic book characters in the world. He’s also one of Funko’s favorite subjects considering he’s featured in more than a dozen collections from the company. Our top choice for the Dark Knight is fitting with this 1966 ginormous classic version of Batman.
Funko POP! Heroes #01 is a special edition Super-Sized Funko Pop. This figure stands 18 inches tall, so it will tower over other heroes and villains in your collection. There are smaller versions of Batman with a similar style, but this Funko figure celebrates his 80th Anniversary in classic fashion. Just make sure you save enough space for the matching Jumbo POP! Joker.
- 18" Funko Mega POP! figure
- Celebrates the 80th anniversary of Batman
- Weighs more than 10 pounds!
- Released in 2000
Saga Ghüs in Pajamas Funko POP!
Image Comics may not have the name recognition of the big two, but they’ve been a mainstay in the comic book world since the early 1990s. Image Comics has introduced countless memorable characters to the world in that time. While Funko hasn’t produced many of them, they went all-out with the Saga collection.
It was hard to pick a favorite from the unique Saga Funko figure collection, but we chose Ghüs. The seal-man has appeared in the comics a number of times over the years as a friend to Marko and Alana. He’s a psychic seal with a knack for engineering, and well represented in this flocked Funko Pop. This figure initially hit the streets in 2018 through SDCC.

Spider-Man vs. Spider-Man Two-Pack POP!
Fans of the classic 60s Spider-Man cartoon have plenty of collectibles to choose from through Funko and other brands. A memorable scene turned meme has been immortalized by Funko with this limited edition two-pack released in 2020.
Funko dropped this exclusive two-pack as part of the POP! Marvel collection. Spider-man vs. Spider-man features two versions of webhead pointing at one another recreating the scene from the “Double Identity” episode. This Entertainment Exclusive set is one of the best Funko Pops for comic book collectors and a great addition to any collection.
- Celebrates the iconic scene from the classic Spider-Man cartoon.
- Entertainment Earth Exclusive
- 2022 Marvel Funko POP! series
- Funko POP! 2-pack
Wonder Woman POP! Die-Cast
Wonder Woman is the most popular female comic book character, and it’s not particularly close. She has more than 70 Funko Pop figures available including variants. Our favorite is a little different than your typical POP as this figure comes from the company’s Die-Cast collection.
POP Die-Cast #04 features the classic version of Wonder Woman as shown in the 2017 film. This metal die-cast version of Diana looks stunning and comes complete with her own unique display. Funko released this figure exclusively through the Funko Shop, and we expect the price to steadily increase in the years to come.
- Made from die-cast metal, not vinyl!
- Funko Shop Exclusive
- POP! Die-Cast #04
- Protective display case
POP! Comics Archie Andrews
Funko may not produce many POPS! from smaller comic publishers, but the company surprised fans with a classic series in 2020. The Pop Comics series went all the way back to the golden age of comics and brought back the original version of Archie Andrews and the gang from Riverdale.
Archie Andrews Funko Pop #24 shows the freckled character in saddle shoes and a cardigan. The All-American version has a more classic vibe compared to his Riverdale counterpart from the POP! TV collection. The Archie Andrews Funko Pop also bears a striking resemblance to the company’s mascot, Freddy Funko.

Doctor Strange POP! Comic Covers
Doctor Strange has been a staple in comics since he debuted in the pages of Strange Tales #110 back in 1963. While that book is considered a grail, this version of Marvel’s Wizard won’t break the bank and looks fantastic on display.
POP! Comic Covers #04 shows Steven Strange in front of a comic book about himself. It’s a fitting tribute fans of the Doctor will certainly appreciate. This figure was a Target exclusive in 2022 but has since found its way to a number of platforms and retailers.

Faith Valiant Convention Exclusive Funko POP!
Rounding our list of the best Funko Pops for comic book fans is an unlikely hero from Valiant Comics. At the moment, it’s the only figure of this character that exists in the collectibles world, making Faith a must-have for Valiant fans.
Faith, otherwise known as Zephyr is part of the Harbinger group. She’s gained a legion of fans since 1992, and her self-titled series was nominated for the Eisner Award. The comic book is just as fun as the figure itself, which is #01 as the sole entry into the POP! Valiant collection. Considering the figure came out in 2016, we don’t expect Funko to expand the lineup anytime soon.
