Showtime on DISH Network
Showtime is an add-on premium station available through DISH Network. In true satellite fashion, there are East and West versions of the station along with 8 other channels in the premium package. At this time, the Showtime add-on is priced at $10 a month.
Qualifying packages can receive a free trial, although that offer is subject to change. Showtime East is channel 318, while the West Coast version of Showtime is on channel 319. On channel 320 is Showtime 2, while Showtime BET, Extreme, Showcase, and Family occupy channels 321-324.
Through Showtime East and West, you’ll find movies airing throughout the day, seven days a week. Current and older films comprise most of the network’s programming along with originals. While you usually won’t find Billions or Yellowjackets on in the morning, primetime is when the originals tend to appear on the schedule.
Showtime has been home to everything from late-night adult programming to sports, but their main focus is on films and original content today. Showtime Sports will cease to exist at the end of 2023 as sports content shifts to Paramount and CBS Sports. The other Showtime networks included with DISH Network have themed programming fitting their names.
SHO x BET was known as Showtime Beyond before a rebranding in 2020. SHO x BET is geared towards African-American audiences with a mix of films and original content in partnership with BET. Showtime Extreme highlights thrillers and action films while Showtime Family Zone keeps things light and steers clear of anything rated TV-MA or higher.
Showtime 2 airs content comparable to the original station and the same is true for Showtime Showcase. While you can occasionally find originals from the main channel on a few of these networks, the main station is the best way to catch up with shows like Dexter or Homeland.
Showtime has been responsible for some of the best original content on the airwaves since its inception. It was where you could catch classics like Shelly Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre, The Gary Shandling Show, The Paper Chase, and The Outer Limits.
That success continued throughout the decades with new hits. Dexter introduced audiences to a serial killer with a conscience. Shameless was a new take on the classic dysfunctional family and took things to a whole new level. Other recent hits include Ray Donovan, Homeland, and Nurse Jackie. All of those shows are accessible through Showtime on DISH Network. Their current selection of originals is light compared to other networks, however.
Yellowjackets and Super Pumped are recent series that have been renewed, while The Curse and Fellow Travelers are new, ongoing series. They have an extensive list of upcoming programs in various stages of production. That includes spin-offs from Billions and a new version of The L Word. There are also sequels or prequels to some of their more popular series. Want more Dexter or Nurse Jackie? That’s a possibility with Showtime.

Showtime Sister Stations
TMC or The Movie Channel, is owned by Showtime and included with the package on DISH Network on channel 237. Like its parent station, TMC has exclusive rights to first-run films with Amblin and others. Indies are also popular on the channel, and the selection is similar to what you’ll find on The Movie Channel Xtra.
This station is on channel 328 through DISH and is an alternative to TMC just like FLIX. This network is also owned by Showtime and included with DISH’s add-on package. These channels don’t currently have originals, but they are loaded with movies from the past to the present.
