Premier and Optoma P2 are two of the highest-rated and most expensive 4k laser projectors on the market right now. Both are feature-rich and use the newest laser-casting technology. But all that tech comes at a hefty price tag. Let’s look over their differences and similarities.
Availability and Versions
Optoma P2 has been discontinued in the US, although many secondary sellers still carry it (BestBuy and B&H, to name a few). Samsung Premiere is readily available, and you can buy it from Amazon, or the official Samsung stores.
Premiere comes in two versions: 120″ or 130″ models, with the larger model being identical to the smaller one save for its ability to cast a larger screen size. Also, the Premiere offers HDR10+, which is a little more advanced than the HDR10 offered by the P2.
Casting
When it comes to casting, the Premiere offers a shorter potential throw distance (4.4 – 9.4″), while the P2 has a further overall distance but can’t get as close (8 – 16.5″).
Brightness
