The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a powerful robot vacuum that can mop hard surfaces and collect fine dust and bigger debris. Although large, the docking station can empty its dust canister, replenish the water tank, and clean the mopping pads for you, significantly decreasing the maintenance needed.
It has an inbuilt live view camera that enables you to monitor your home. It also has AI detection that helps it avoid obstacles as it does the magic!
While earlier models were only average at these tasks, the Roborock Ultra has taken robot vacuum technology to a new level. Roborock has gone out of its way to include almost every feature available on high-end robot vacuums.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop Review
The brand Roborock is relatively new to the market for robot vacuums. In contrast to companies like iRobot’s Roomba, which has twenty years of experience under its belt, Roborock only began manufacturing robotic cleaners in 2014.
The brand’s most recent robot vacuum, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, is the most advanced cleaner from the company. The amazing robot cleaner can complete tasks with minimal human input. No hand filling up the water tank or picking stray cables and other obstacles.
It features a camera and on-device AI that detects obstacles so it can avoid them, in addition to being able to mop and vacuum simultaneously. Thanks to the auto-emptying dock, you won’t even need to touch the robot for several weeks at a time.
Roborock S7 Ultra is one of the most costly robot vacuums on the market right now. However, it’s worth the price if you’re looking for a cleaner that can sweep, mop floors, as well as empty its water and dust canisters, allowing you to outsource the floor cleaning task.
Design
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra package includes the Roborock robot vacuum and the base station. The round design of other Roborock models is present on the robot vacuum, which is 13.89 x 13.77 x 3.8 inches in size.
It’s taller than several robot vacuums on the market, including the Eufy RoboVac G20, which might make it difficult to clean under some furniture with little clearance. The top edge of the robot vacuum is protected by a plastic bumper on the matte black S7 MaxV, while the bottom edge houses the built-in camera.
Additionally, the robot vacuum has a Lidar scanner. The Roborock navigates your home by a 3 x 0.5-inch (w x h) disc that rests on top of the appliance and works with the camera to avoid anything in its path.
The camera is excellent for calming pets while you’re away from home because it allows you to see and speak with anyone in its range of view. It also has LEDs that turn on when the ambient light is low.
There are three buttons on the robot vacuum that you can use to turn it on or off, start a spot clean, or return it to the charging station. An LED that flashes white when vacuuming, blue during mopping, and green when its charging is also on the robot’s top.
The Roborock Ultra’s bottom has a 13.40z dust canister, a brush bar, and two rubber wheels that let the vacuum move around your home. The robot vacuum’s 6.7oz storage tank and semicircular mopping pad enable it to wash and clean rough surfaces after the rubber brush bar gathers dust. According to Roborock, it can cover a 3,230-square-foot area before needing a refill.
Please note: As of July 19, 2023, the roborock S7+ Robot Vacuum and Sonic Mop with Self-Empty Dock, Stores up to 60-Days of Dust, Auto Lifting Mop, Ultrasonic Carpet Detection, 2500Pa Suction, Black is out of stock on Amazon. Check back for availability.
Modes and Intensities
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra has three mopping scrub intensities, three cleaning modes, and five suction levels while vacuuming. It also has a docking station that charges and empties the dust canister. Roborock claims that the dust canister, which is 45 0z, can retain seven weeks’ worth of debris and dirt, although that depends on the number of cleans per week.
The base station of this robot has a cleaning function for the mopping pads, discharges dirty water into a 101-ounce tank, and then refills the onboard water tank with the 85.5-ounce clean water tank. The docking station takes up a substantial amount of room at 19.8 x 16.6 x 16.5 inches.
Setting up and Using the App
For the best functionality, you need to download the Roborock app and install it on your smartphone. It’s available on Google Play Store. After that, present the QR code that the app generates to the robot’s camera and start cleaning.
The app effortlessly recognizes the robot, establishes a wireless connection, and recognizes the type of dock you use. By touching the robot vacuum’s icon and selecting “clean,” you can quickly begin a thorough clean as soon as it connects to WiFi. You can also adjust its cleaning mode, level of suction, and intensity of scrubbing via the app.
The Roborock tidies your floors while simultaneously storing a map of your house, which you can divide into separate rooms and zones to concentrate on particular regions rather than your entire house.
It saves the dirtiest parts, such as a hard-floored kitchen that requires sweeping and mopping, for last. The capacity to store up to three maps makes the vacuum suitable for multi-level houses. You can also put up no-go zones and virtual walls on top of having the scheduling feature.
Performance
The robot vacuum makes a 3D map of your house and a 2D one. Additionally, customers using the MaxV Ultra vacuum with an iPhone can construct a matrix map that utilizes the phone’s camera to record information about furniture and floors.
The robot’s ability to sense and recognize obstacles helps it avoid getting stuck or creating a mess, which is one of its claims to fame. The Roborock Ultra cleans a room in a predetermined pattern that first tends the room’s boundaries in an S-shape. It follows a similar mopping rhythm and can carry out both tasks simultaneously.
Battery Capacity
- Roborock’s smartest robot combo yet. S7 MaxV Ultra provides an extremely convenient, totally hands-free cleaning experience. Using the Empty Wash Fill Dock, you get automatic dust emptying, mop washing, and robot water tank refilling. The dock even cleans itself too.
- Self-Refilling and Self-Emptying. The Empty Wash Fill Dock automatically refills the S7 MaxV water tank when it docks, extending its mopping range to up to 3230 sqft (300 sqm). The dock also empties the robot vacuum and holds enough dust for up to 7-weeks without emptying.
- ReactiveAI 2.0. With Roborock’s next generation of obstacle avoidance technology, ReactiveAI 2.0, S7 MaxV can navigate around common domestic hazards using its RGB camera and a new neural processing unit. An additional light turns on in dark rooms, making obstacle recognition as effective at night as during the day. 3D structured light systems supplement the RGB camera and can spot unknown objects, determine their size and location, and allow the robot to navigate around them.
- Next-Level Intelligence. Using its camera, S7 MaxV can now recognize the furniture in your home and place them on the map automatically. It can also identify your floors in each room and recommend cleaning patterns and scrub intensity accordingly.
- Maintenance once every 2 weeks, remove and rinse, gently tapping to remove any dirt. 6-12 months recommended replacement.
Roborock claims the battery can go for around 180 minutes without recharging in “Quiet mode.” On full power, the battery will drain in 75 minutes before the robot automatically returns to the base station to recharge itself.
That’s enough time to allow for a thorough cleaning of a three-bedroom, two-story house. Even more impressive is that after a recharge, the robot returns to pick up where it left off and finishes cleaning.
The Roborock Ultra takes 4 hours to attain a full recharge. The app has an indicator for battery level, so you can see how much runtime is left.
