History of the Mercedes-Benz EQE
Mercedes-Benz introduced the world to the Vision EQS at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019. The concept Vision EQS would inspire a new line of Mercedes EVs built from the ground up instead of repurposing existing Mercedes models’ platforms.
The first car built on the platform was the Mercedes-Benz EQS. It is a luxury EV targeting high-end buyers. However, Mercedes saw the need to expand the EQ line to corner a larger EV market share.
They unveiled the Mercedes-Benz EQE at the 2021 Munich Motor Show. It was followed by the first EQE coming off the production line in 2022 and going on sale in 2023.
