Key Points:
- Set in Sengoku-era Japan but with a mythological twist, Nioh 2 offers challenging gameplay, an interesting story, and tons of lore.
- In Heavenly Bodies, you play an astronaut tasked with fixing a space station by working through artful mixes of challenging physics puzzles.
- Lego Harry Potter Collection gives you access to two classic adventures, Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7.
We now know the games coming to Playstation Plus for the month of November. Classic Samurai action adventure Nioh 2, cerebral physics game Heavenly Bodies, and the entire Lego Harry Potter collection will all be available for the month of November.
Oddly, Playstation neglected to mention when these games will become available to players. There were also no accompanying announcements about the Game Catalog or Playstation Classics. Might be a light month for new games, but these three titles are nothing to turn your nose up at.
1. Nioh 2
- Fight to survive in this brutally savage masocore action roleplaying game
- Unleash your inner demon to wield the devastating powers of the supernatural yokai
- Discover a revamped combat system with new weapons and skills
- Journey through the mysterious Dark Realm: the demonic home of the yokai
- Play with friends in co op online multiplayer modes for up to three players
This tough-as-nails action RPG is the sequel to 2017’s Nioh. Set in Sengoku-era Japan but with a mythological twist, Nioh 2 offers challenging gameplay, an interesting story, and tons of lore.
It is almost a cliché at this point to call a game Souls-like. Since the company The Behemoth has taken over gaming, every game from AAA titles Assassin’s Creed to indie darlings like Ashen has tried to earn the Soulsbourne moniker.
Of those games, nearly none do it as well as Nioh and Nioh 2. Nioh 2 isn’t just unforgiving for the sake of it. The game is filled with satisfying combat and brutal bosses. It also engages players with updated features from the first game that draws the player in.
The addition of yokai skills, Soul Cores, and Burst Cores has refined the already legendary gameplay, making it something truly special. It also gives you a mountain of customization options. From weapons to magic, to base stats, you are sure to find the right combination to fit your playstyle.
At the end of the day, Nioh 2 is an amazing addition to the free games lineup for the month of November. Fans of deep, nail-biting RPGs can’t miss it.
2. Heavenly Bodies
The newest game on this list, Heavenly Bodies artfully mixes challenging physics puzzles with existential dread, adding a dash of humor. You are an astronaut tasked with fixing a space station. The catch? The space station is…in space. Limited gravity and the constant threat of death by space add a new dimension to the puzzler genre.
As if things weren’t difficult enough, players are given granular control of all limbs and digits. This is where the humor comes in, as your astronaut rag-dolls around their task.
The puzzles are fun and challenging. They never overstay their welcome and the feeling of progression is satisfying. You can even call for help in multiplayer mode. Grab a partner to take on the most challenging puzzles together. Or just have fun flailing around in space. Either way, this game is a blast.
If you love space, puzzles, and rag doll physics, this is the game for you.
3. Lego Harry Potter Collection
- LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 to the PlayStation4 computer entertainment system for the first time with both top-selling videogames...
- LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four books and films-Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone , Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and...
- LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 transports players through the final three books and final four films-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter...
- Character Pack DLC included on disc featuring 10 characters-Godric Gryffindor, Harry (Yule Ball), Helga Hufflepuff, Lockhart (Straightjacket), Luna (Lion Head), Peeves, Hermione (Pink Dress), Ron...
- Spell Pack DLC included on disc featuring 5 spells-Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors.
Next up is the entire dang Lego Harry Potter Collection! This game gives you access to two classic adventures, Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7.
Relive the most iconic moments from the movies and books with the expected amount of Lego zaniness. Where Nioh 2 and Heavenly Bodies can offer a great challenge to players, Lego Harry Potter is a much chiller platformer.
It has fun puzzles that offer minimal challenge, so the game is suited to all ages. However, for those looking for a tougher gameplay experience, the collection aspect of the games will not disappoint.
Unlocking new areas and players is essential to collect every brick the game has to offer. Doing this is no small feat and will keep you entertained for hours on end. Players will also get the chance to take part in classic scenes and visit quintessential locations.
It is also a great multiplayer component so you and your friends can take on the challenges of Hogwarts together. It is only 2 player co-op which might limit some of the fun for larger parties. However, as a game for parents and kids or siblings, you’d be hard-pressed to find its equal.
