Get the Gist: Opera Introduces ChatGPT Integration for Quick Webpage and Article Summaries

Have you ever found yourself short on time but you want to stay updated with the latest news and events? One of the leading search engines, Opera, recently mentioned plans to integrate AI into its newest feature, “Shorten,” which will use ChatGPT for quick webpage and article summaries. This new feature will allow Opera users to get an idea of a webpage or article without reading the entire page or content.

The advent of artificial intelligence has led to an increase in the design of new tech and products. Besides, AI is getting deep roots in our lives, from simple essay generation to self-driving cars, accessible programming, and intelligent home devices.

However, what are the advantages and disadvantages of this technology? Are we ready for its impact on our lives? Today, we’ll explore how this new tool will work, the surge of AI, its benefits, ethical issues surrounding AI, and the future of AI in various industries.

Opera Mini and AI: What Are the Future Plans?

Opera shared plans in February for integrating productive AI capabilities to augment the browser experience. Shorten by ChatGPT will be among the first AI features to get tested, and it will utilize AI to develop articles and webpage briefs that show what the page talks about.

According to Jan Standel, Opera’s marketing and communications Vice President, ChatGPT’s shorten feature will be operational very soon. ChatGPT is a transformer-based artificial intelligence model that uses natural language to relay any information users request.  It is built with a GPT-3 AI language model, an acronym for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3. ChatGPT AI analyzes text and generates human-like written essays from online articles and web pages.

The prototype can be programmed to recognize any domain’s language, making it more efficient in generating information within the domain with minimal changes. You must download and install the Opera Mini browser from Play Store or App Store to use the ChatGPT integration. After it’s installed, you can activate the ChatGPT extension from the Settings tab. Once enabled, a small chatbot icon will appear in the URL bar to allow you to produce summaries of any webpage you are viewing.

The synopses will be produced via a natural language processing algorithm (NLP) that determines what a webpage talks about, examines it, and creates a summary. The summary will feature some phrases and words “as is” on the webpage to ensure that the outlines accurately represent the content of a web page. Additionally, you will be free to tailor your preferences, such as the summary length or precise keywords that must feature in summary. These summaries will be saved on Opera Mini’s server so you can access them from any gadget anytime.

What’s Next?

Opera is also considering other AI-powered abilities. Microsoft is restructuring Edge to augment an “AI-powered copilot” into the browser, whereas Google is developing an AI chatbot called Bard driven by LaMDA. It appears as if Opera and MS are backing artificial intelligence to disrupt Google’s reign in the browser market. Opera seems set to be a global leader in the browser revolution with the introduction of Shorten and other AI-based qualities.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a  language-based model artificial intelligence (AI) technology developed by OpenAI. It was designed to interact conversationally, answering questions and challenging incorrect information. It will generate internet information search for its users using a GPT-3 model.  This technology, as Opera announced, will be integrated into the Opera Mini web browser, letting you to scan the content on web pages or articles.

ChatGPT incorporation into Opera Mini will be a fantastic way for search engines to understand the critical points of any essay, article, or webpage without reading through it. It will save time and provide briefs to help you decide whether to read more.

Exploring the Future of AI: What Lies Ahead and How to Prepare For It

AI isn’t a buzzword today. Artificial intelligence (AI) is fast developing as a driving force behind most of the world’s progressive and disruptive tech creations. AI is still in its nascent stages, but as it develops, it will beyond a doubt change how various industries function, relate with technology, and picture our future.

AI has a vast and exciting potential to transform our everyday lives. However, it also poses many challenges that should be tackled to realize its potential fully. Below, we will analyze the potential with AI to try and project what lies ahead and how to prepare for it. We’ll also look at some current trends in AI programming and ponder which new prospects may come up from these advancements.

AI in Business

No one can predict what the future holds. However, some believe AI will avail more business and work opportunities than it displaces. AI will disrupt the current enterprises and industries’ operation norms from customer service to accounting, health, and marketing.

AI tech will promote informed decision-making in organizations because owners can better analyze and understand their customer needs based on AI-obtained data. This will help businesses deliver customer-tailored goods and services, improving their satisfaction.

Improved customer satisfaction translates to higher customer retention rates and more opportunities for a business to grow. AI will also be used in the automated recruiting of laborers, modeling a customer-centric system, and increasing productivity. Companies can also use AI for predictive analytics, which can help predict future events and stay ahead of the competition.

Moreover, AI can automate mundane business tasks, such as customer service questions and data analysis, which reduces human error. By leveraging this new tech, companies may reduce costs, enhance efficiency, increase customer satisfaction, and finally achieve huge success in their respective industries. Thus, it is becoming apparent that AI will be a significant determinant in the future of many businesses.

Healthcare and AI

AI is also becoming popular in the health sector. Health centers have gathered a lot of data that is humanly impossible to handle within a certain period. AI is best suited to analyzing, interpreting, and presenting health data.

This technology may detect diseases early, develop patient-tailored treatment plans, and automate diagnostics or drug investigations. AI in healthcare promises better healthcare, increased safety, less human error, and reduced healthcare costs.

AI in Transportation and Smart Cities

There are now self-driving cars such as Teslas, plus innovations towards smart cities in the modern world. Self-driving cars will impact our lives by enhancing road safety, eliminating pollution, and improving livability. Smart cities will help make life easier for law enforcement and citizens by providing efficient services and infrastructure.
