What Is the Nickelodeon Channel Number on DirecTV?
Every Nickelodeon channel is available on DirecTV, but the location may differ depending on where you live. Luckily, the channel difference is relatively simple. There are two options for the main Nickelodeon channel, “East” and “West”, with the expected 3-hour time difference. Unfortunately, there are no East and West distinctions for Nickelodeon’s sister channels.
However, you can see if the shows you’re looking for are available on demand simply by adding a “1” in front of the normal channel number. For example, by searching “1300” instead of “300”, you can view the Nickelodeon channel’s on-demand programming. The locations for all the channels are listed in the table below. It’s worth noting that Nick at Nite is on the same channel as Nickelodeon and is home to their late-night programming.

What Is Nickelodeon?
Nickelodeon is a TV channel with a very long history. Starting as a small cable affair in the 70s, the original show roster was fairly diverse. The lineup included educational and news programs, cartoons, and reruns of much-loved classics, mostly aimed at a younger audience. In its early years, it was known for being commercial-free, and for having its programs interspersed with entertaining segments. The popularity of Nickelodeon really took off in the 90s and early 00s, however. This is when many of their most iconic shows began to air. Among these were Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Ren and Stimpy, Doug, and, of course, SpongeBob SquarePants. Over the years since then, Nickelodeon has diversified a lot, both through introducing sister channels and by transitioning to the digital world via apps and online streaming.
How Do I get Nickelodeon on DirecTV?
Fortunately, Nickelodeon is available with every DirecTV package. This means that no matter which plan you’re a member of, you’ll be able to find the Nickelodeon channel to watch at your leisure. If entertainment channels are your priority, then the basic entertainment package will be suitable for your needs. However, its sister channels can’t all be found there. While TeenNick is available on the basic package, to watch Nick Jr. or Nicktoons, you’ll have to upgrade to at least the Choice package. For clarity’s sake, we’ve summary of the plans on offer from DirecTV in the following table. The listed prices exclude ARS and Regional Sports fees.

Top Nickelodeon Shows to Watch
SpongeBob SquarePants is undoubtedly one of the most popular shows on the network. His quirky and off-beat underwater adventures have captivated the hearts of youngsters and adults alike. We have to mention Rugrats as well, as this is a whimsical show about mischievous babies that has stood the test of time. In addition to these, Danger Force is a great option for kids who can’t get enough of their superheroes. We can’t fault PAW Patrol or Peppa Pig either for particularly young little ones.
Nick Jr. Shows
Nick Jr. is the go-to channel for educational shows aimed at pre-school children and younger kids in general. Max and Ruby, The Wonder Pets, and Blue’s Clues are some great choices to keep your little ones engaged and learning. We have to give Oswald a special mention, though, for its relaxing and calming aesthetic.
Nicktoons is where you’ll find most of the classics from the Nickelodeon vaults, as well as some contemporary ones. Think Danny Phantom, Fairly OddParents, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Heavy doses of nostalgia are the order of the day here for kids (and adults) of all ages.
This channel is more geared towards a teenage audience, as is reflected in their programming. Among the best offerings are iCarly, Victorious, and Drake & Josh. While iCarly introduced many teens to the fun world of content creation, Victorious was arguably the first big break for the now-iconic Ariana Grande. Drake & Josh delivers zany antics in the form of a lighthearted sibling rivalry, which is very on-theme for the channel.
In summary, Nickelodeon is available on any DirecTV package on channels 299 and 300, depending on whether you’re looking for West or East. TeenNick is also available on any package. But for the other sister channels, you’ll need to have at least the Choice package to view them. Shows can also be watched on demand by adding a “1” prefix to the channel number. Whether you’re wanting to show your kids a classic (and relive your childhood) or keep up with a modern program, you won’t get lost in the TV guide once you know where to find good ol’ Nick.
