NFL Network on DISH: What You Need to Know
The NFL has been around for more than 100 years, but the network named after the company isn’t nearly that old. NFL Network launched in 2003 and is owned by the National Football League. As part of NFL Media, they deal with more than just live events.
NFL Network started out small, but it is now available in more than 50 million homes across the United States. You can access the network through streaming providers, cable conglomerates, and satellite providers like DISH Network.
With DISH, NFL Network is on channel 154. It’s available through the America’s 120 Plus, Top 200, and Top 250 plans through the provider. This well-funded network is dedicated to the NFL and all things football.
NFL Network Programming on DISH Network
If you’ve never subscribed to the NFL Network, you may think they only air live NFL games or replays. Considering games are only on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, that would get boring fairly quickly. Thankfully, NFL Network does more than cover live events. DISH Network subscribers can also look forward to daily programming and original content.
Throughout the week on NFL Network, you’ll find a variety of programs dedicated to the gridiron. Good Morning Football is a staple of the channel, along with shows like The Insiders. Do you play fantasy football? They have coverage for that as well with NFL Fantasy Live. Those shows and others will keep you entertained (along with the hosts) until the next live game rolls.
When it comes to live football, you can access live events through the league, including the NFL International games. Those are exclusive to the NFL Network at the moment. They do not have Thursday Night Football, which moved to Amazon Prime Video for the 2022 season. In addition to regular season games, NFL Network also takes an in-depth look at the preseason.
For true football fans, the ability to watch all the preseason games is a bonus, but they have some NCAA coverage as well. Games and bowls have been shown on the network sporadically since 2016, but now air frequently thanks to a new agreement with ESPN. You’ll also find plenty of replays of classic and current games on the network.
NFL Network Sister Stations
Only one station is tied to the NFL Network, and it’s arguably more popular than the main channel itself. That would be NFL RedZone, a channel that puts you into a mind-numbing state every Sunday during football season.

Hosted by Scott Hanson, NFL RedZone takes viewers on a wild ride as they visit every football game once a team enters the Red Zone. Dual-box coverage is common, but you can also get the mythical octo-box. Yes, that’s eight simultaneous feeds of football games inside the 20-yard line.
Coverage on RedZone begins with the first kickoff of the day on Sunday and ends when the day’s final game wraps up. You’ll get to experience “The Witching Hour,” which is when all the games are wrapping up in the 4th quarter on the early slate.
It’s just as insane as it sounds, but well worth the price if you’re a fan of the game. NFL RedZone is not included with NFL Network on DISH. NFL RedZone is located on channel 155 and available through the company’s Multi-Sport Pack.
