The History of the NFL Network
Just eight months after the owners of the 32 teams in the National Football League decided unanimously to authorize the network’s creation, the NFL Network debuted on November 4, 2003. The league contributed $100 million to start the network and settled in its original location in the Californian town of Culver City, near Los Angeles. Since then, the NFL website launched in 2004, and the league’s app was released in 2009.
Starting in 2006, the NFL Network started airing eight regular-season games during Thursday prime time. This is known as Thursday Night Football. While the network is devoted to American football, it doesn’t just broadcast the NFL games. It also airs documentaries, specials, and more about the sport itself.

The NFL Network Programming
The NFL Network is focused on one thing — football. During football season, you can catch the original games broadcast live, with play-by-play announcers and commentators. Every NFL team appears in at least one timeslot-exclusive game each season. Prefer to watch in HD? That’s possible too, although you’ll be watching on a different channel than the regular NFL Network!
Preseason coverage is also televised, with 65 games each August. While some of the games air live, many of them are taped and only broadcast to the local team of the viewers.

You can catch Good Morning Football Monday through Friday at 7 AM EST, and reruns start at 10:00 AM EST. This daily morning show focuses on more than just the football games themselves. It’s the perfect show for true football fans.
NFL Total Access
Want to stay up to date after game day? Miss one of your favorite teams because you were watching another game? Don’t worry, NFL Total Access is the perfect program to catch up on all the latest scores, news, and more. It covers all 32 teams and also offers game analysis each night. If you prefer a behind-the-scenes look at the football players and coaches, A Football Life offers a fascinating look at their lives and what it takes to make it in football. The docuseries currently has 116 episodes, with some notable figures including Tim Tebow, Sean Taylor, and Terrell Owens, just to name a few.
The episodes also cover more than just the figures. For example, episodes like the 2006 Rose Bowl and The Immaculate Reception focus more on the games or certain plays that have been performed throughout the years of NFL history.
