Crash Bandicoot 4 came out in October 2020 and was received exceptionally well. In earlier generations of consoles, Crash Bandicoot was a beloved character and held the ranks with Mario and Sonic. Crash Bandicoot games were at the peak of their popularity in the early 2000s, especially for PlayStation 2 users. Although Crash definitely lost some steam over the last couple of years, he got a massive revival in 2020 with the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. With Crash 4 now on PC, there is even more of a player base hopping onto this excellent game.
But enough of living in the past. Let’s talk about the exciting rumors that have been running around on Twitter and Reddit. From some reliable sources, we have heard about possibly two more Crash Bandicoot games that could be coming. We hear you all already asking, “Is there really a new Crash Bandicoot game teased?” With most of the team at Activision that worked on Crash Bandicoot 4 being taken over to work on Call of Duty, many fans were worried that we wouldn’t see another Crash game for a while. But now we might have 2! Can Activision make Crash Bandicoot fans’ dreams come true with these two games?
What Were The Leaks?
Wumpa League Pizza Box
The leak that has had the most substance to it was actually orchestrated as Activision, surprisingly. Activision sent a pizza box to a YouTuber called Canadian Guy Eh to announce the release of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Battle.net for PC.
On the bottom of the receipt that came with the pizza, it said, “Hungry for more? Try out our new Wumpa Pizza for $12.08!” If you are a long-time Crash Bandicoot fan, you might recognize the word Wumpa. A long-time rumored game is Wumpa League. Some sources described this game as a 4-player brawler. It is suspected that the price at this end of the line is an announcement date, December 8th. The same day as the Game Awards.
The Game Awards has been a regular date for a lot of companies to release new games, especially because it is right before Christmas. So this date makes sense, and the fact that it is just a little bit over a month away makes it much more exciting.
Toys For Bob
Toys For Bob, the game-developer studio responsible for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4, also tweeted something recently. They have been teasing a new game release, especially with a tweet that asked people to name all of the games they have on their wall of fame. After they called all of them, they also mentioned it’s good they have room for more games.
Even though Toys For Bob lost some of its team after being drafted to help with Call of Duty and Overwatch 2, their Twitter has consistently talked about Crash Bandicoot and Skylanders. So there is a good chance that we might see a new game from either or both of those series.

Crash Bandicoot 5
We have put less trust into the other leak floating around on 4chan. Depending on your opinions, but with stuff that is only on 4chan, we tend to trust it a little bit less. These rumors are talking about the possibility of a Crash 5 game as well. We kind of doubt Activision is announcing two Crash Bandicoot games at the same time. So there is a chance that the Wumpa League game and Crash 5 could be the same game. But if we are getting two more Crash games, you won’t hear us complaining.
Nothing Is Confirmed Yet
Although all this is very exciting, especially for Crash Bandicoot fans, nothing is set in stone yet. So don’t start making space in your game library just yet. The leaks and rumors seem like something is coming, but there is also a chance that we will get a new Skylanders or Spyro game. As always, when it comes to gaming news leaks and stuff like that, take everything with a grain of salt. We have seen too many promising games be over-hype and ultimately disappointing, and we do not want that for Crash Bandicoot.
Remember to mark December 8th in your calendar and see what happens. It could be nothing, or we could be getting two new Crash Bandicoot games. How exciting is that?
