Anyone who has ever obsessed over Fortnite Battle Royale knows who Myth is. As someone with a multi-million Twitch following, Myth has become a well-known name in gaming. He’s also made the jump to YouTube, building an even larger following on the platform with his streaming content. Our Myth guide takes a closer look at his gaming setup and earnings.
We also talk about his career and the awards he has won so far. Like other streamers, he gave up Twitch a while ago, focusing entirely on YouTube. We think he has a good reason to do so, but we’ll let you decide after reading the Myth guide below.
Who Is Myth?
Ali Kabbani, popularly known as Myth, is an American gamer and streamer who first came into the limelight through his Twitch channel. He was born on May 24th, 1999 in Dearborn, Michigan. Myth created his YouTube account in November 2013 but didn’t get any traction at first. In the beginning, he used to make Call of Duty highlights, unboxing videos, and game reviews on his channel.
He started his Twitch account in late 2016. In the beginning, he streamed Paragon, the Epic Games title that was later shut down. He quickly moved to Fortnite, which brought him a lot of popularity and a following in the Twitch space. His first viral video was a clip of him playing against Summit1g, a popular gamer at the time.
Later, he started playing Fortnite Battle Royale in 2017. As a result, he gained a following of 200,000 on Twitch by January 2019. By June of that year, the number had increased to 3.2 million.
Myth’s Career
Myth joined TSM (Team SoloMid) in 2018, captaining the group comprised of himself, Juan “CaMiLLs” Camilla, Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin, and Daequan. In the same year, he also competed in the Ninja Vegas Tournament but failed to reach the final. Although he did not die in Game 1, he later died outside the top 40. Myth did not renew his TSM contract for 2022 because he felt he had lost the family environment due to his friends Leena and Bjergsen leaving.
In 2019, Myth and Ninja — another Twitch streamer — were paid by EA to stream Apex Legends. While Myth did not disclose how much EA paid him, Ninja had a one-million-dollar contract.
The most recent news of Myth’s success came in July 2022 when he signed a contract with YouTube. He joined other top gamers, including LilyPichu, TimTheTatman, Ludwig, and Valkyrae. The news came in the wake of his leaving Twitch, where he had 7.4 million followers. He currently has 4.48 million followers on YouTube and has posted 1.2k videos to date.
Gaming Setup and Gear
We all know Myth must have a great gaming and streaming setup for him to make such high-quality videos. We were just as curious as you to see which tech items he deemed necessary for his gaming setup. So, we did some digging. Let’s jump in.

Net Worth and Income
As of 2023, Myth has an estimated net worth of $4.8 million. While many other streamers only earn from gaming, Myth has other sources too. He sells his merchandise, partners with brands, does sponsorships, and he has a YouTube partnership. Here’s a look at his different income streams.
Contracts
Myth has had several contracts in his gaming and streaming career. Back in 2018, he had a contract with Twitch, making him around seven figures per year.
The same year, he also had a contract with TSM. As mentioned, we do not know how much he earned from it, but his fellow streamer made a million dollars. So, we assume he made the same amount.
Now, his YouTube contract most likely earns him even more because the offer was impressive enough for him to bid farewell to Twitch altogether.
Endorsements
Myth has also secured numerous endorsements, including his long-term partnership with Bloodhunt, the 2021 battle royale game. He has also partnered with Samsung and Red Bull. Again, we’re not sure how much he earns from these partnerships, but they’ve definitely been instrumental in helping him make his millions.
Merchandise and Investments
Myth sells his merchandise, including hats, t-shirts, and hoodies. It’s not evident how much he earns through sales.
He has also invested in several businesses, such as Volt, an esports organization. Other investments include T1, another esports organization, and the Metaverse app Oasis.
Why Did Myth Leave Twitch for YouTube Gaming?
Myth did a YouTube live stream in which he gave several reasons for leaving Twitch. The first reason he gave was money. Although he didn’t say how much YouTube was paying him, it was definitely substantial since he did a happy dance while talking about it.
He further said that YouTube Gaming understood his vision and trajectory for the future. It seems that there’s a mutual understanding between Myth and YouTube, which is likely what convinced him to sign the contract.
Our Final Verdict
While most people know Myth for playing Fortnite, which he has streamed for more than 5,000 hours, he has also streamed other games on Twitch. His second most-played game is Valorant, which he streamed for 2000+ hours in 2022. Some other games he used to play include Paragon, Call of Duty: Warzone, Just Chatting, Apex Legends, and Rust.
A quick glance at Myth’s career tells us that he has been quite successful. Signing a contract with YouTube Gaming is huge, especially in today’s competitive space.
