Major PlayStation Game Verified for Steam Deck

Some eagle-eyed Steam users recently spotted a new PlayStation game on the platform that got Steam Deck verified. It adds to a growing trend of PlayStation games coming to the PC and later getting verified on the Steam Deck. This gives players the opportunity to play these games on the go as they’ve never experienced them before.

This is possible thanks to Sony’s desire to enter the PC gaming market. Games that were formerly only available on PlayStation consoles can now be played on a PC. This also means they can be played on the Steam Deck. The Steam Deck verification simply means that the game will function properly on the handheld console.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is the latest PlayStation game to get verified for Steam Deck compatibility. Sony recently ported Marvel’s Spider-Man to PC, which was a major success. Other titles available on Steam Deck include Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, and God of War.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection includes two previously released uncharted games. Those games are A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy. The collection originally launched on the PlayStation 5 back in January of this year.

It’s considered a remaster of the original PS4 releases. However, they both lack the multiplayer portions from their respective games.

The PC version is a direct port from the PlayStation 5 edition of the game. One unfortunate factor is that the collection does not include the first three games of the series, known as the Nathan Drake Collection. These were previously bundled on the PlayStation 4 but have not made it onto the PlayStation 5 or PC.

Hopefully, the Nathan Drake Collection will also see a move to both the PlayStation 5 and PC in the future. The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection received relatively high praise in its initial release; however, sales on the PC were fairly lackluster compared to other Sony ports.

Why Is It Important?

Now you may be wondering what the big deal is about a PlayStation game getting verified on the Steam Deck. Well, if you have been following the news lately, there’s not much to be surprised about. Many of Sony’s games are getting ported to PC and verified on the Steam Deck.

But it wasn’t long ago that Sony had its own intentions to dominate the handheld market. The PlayStation Portable was a massive success, but its successor, the PlayStation Vita, never kept up. In the years since, Sony has backed away from portable consoles and turned its attention strictly to home consoles.

It seems like they realize that PC gamers are an untapped market for them, and the Steam Deck is another avenue to expand upon. This comes at a time when Microsoft is also pushing hard for portability with their Gamepass service. With it, subscribers can play Xbox games anywhere via streaming.

An important factor is that PlayStation games are not only available on PC but are actually verified on the Steam Deck. The verification means that the game is fully functional and plays exactly as it would on a PC. It also stands to reason that Sony actually made minor changes to ensure that the game would run properly and get verified.

The Steam Deck is a portable gaming console released by Valve. It is designed to play PC games on the go. It also has an optional docking station to let you play PC games on a TV.

The Steam Deck is not your traditional gaming console with specific games made for it. Instead, it is designed to work with PC games already available in the Steam store.

At first glance, the Steam Deck looks a bit like a Nintendo Switch Console. It has controls on both sides, but they are not removable. It also has a touch-screen in the center with trigger buttons on the top. The Steam Deck, however, is a bit bulkier than a Switch console, which actually makes it feel a little better to hold.

A common misconception is that the Steam Deck is designed to stream games and therefore requires the internet all the time. This is not the case, although some games do require the internet while playing. Its interface is also app-based, so it is extremely easy to use. Plus, it can run things like Windows or an emulator.

With regard to Sony, the Steam Deck can easily play many PlayStation games that are available on Steam. This led many people on the internet to refer to the Steam Deck as a “PlayStation Vita 2.” While it is not quite a successor to the Vita, its versatility has led many early adopters to fall in love with the device.

Can You Play All PlayStation Games on Steam Deck?

One last question that comes up is whether you can play all PlayStation games on the Steam Deck. For now, the answer is no, but more games are being added pretty consistently. The same goes for PC, where Sony has been working on adding many of their classic titles from the PlayStation 4 era for gamers to enjoy.

Making these games available for PC gamers is a significant step in the right direction for Sony. But, at the same time, they don’t want to slow the sales of PlayStation consoles. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect new releases to come to PC anytime soon. However, if you want to experience an older game, then you may be in luck.

Putting PlayStation games on the PC and, therefore, the Steam Deck is a win-win for Sony. It’s also a great win for gamers who play on the PC, as well as those who want to play on the go.

Most of the games released on the Steam Deck so far have run their course on consoles. This means that they are unlikely to sell many more copies and very unlikely to help drive console sales.

However, these games still have plenty of life left in them, and giving them new life on the PC is a welcome change. In addition, the Steam Deck is bridging the gap for many gamers, allowing them to play high-quality games at an affordable price. Hopefully, Sony will continue to put new games on the PC as well as the old ones.
