Release Date and Price
The Levoit Core 400S was released on April 18, 2021. There’s no difference between the Levoit Core 400S and Coway AP-1512 HH Mighty when it comes to price and value. Amazon, Walmart, and the Levoit website all have the Core 400S. In July 2021, not many other merchants seemed to be carrying it, but that is certain to change.
Each of the Core 400S’s replacement filters costs $50. When budgeting for an air-cleaning system, remember that you may need to change the filters every six months. This makes it best overall and in the budget as well.
Different Models
Designed by Levoit, the Core 400S is a portable, elegant, simple white cylindrical device with round intake holes circling the bottom half and a black exhaust vent enclosing a black circular control screen with blue and white accents. The device has a diameter of 10.5 inches (27 cm) and 20.5 inches (52 cm). It is 11 pounds in weight (5 kg). While the device does not have wheels, it does have two recessed handles located towards the top, making it simple to lift.
The Core 400S is bigger (and more costly) than previous Levoit air purifiers of a similar design. Even so, it’s not as tall as the tall tapered cylinders built for bigger spaces, such as the LV-H133 and LV-134.

A colour-coded indicator that informs you how clean your air is replacing the power button in the centre of all these Levoit models’ touch-sensitive control screens on the top of the Core 400S. (The Levoit LV-134 has this, as well). There are 2.5 micrometre-sized or smaller particles in every cubic metre of air, measured in PM 2.5 units.
Features
In addition to five fan speeds, the Levoit Core 400S offers a timer function that allows you to set the air purifier to operate for up to 12 hours longer, a “check filter” light to alert you when it’s time for you to clean or replace your filter, and a “sleep” mode that’s a lot quieter than the turbo mode. You may also disable the purifier’s display or “lock” the display so that an app can only manage it on your smartphone or by voice commands via Amazon’s Alexa.
Even so, Levoit’s AirSight Plus air quality sensor, which utilises a laser to monitor the number of particles in the air, may be most beneficial. The PM2.5 counter (discussed above) and LED ring on the touch screen display the results.
The LEDs encircling the digit indicator are blue when the air is exceptionally clean, and the indicator reads between zero and 35. Up to 75, it’s a little dirtier, but it’s still quite clean. Above that, the lights are yellow until they become red at about 120.
Even though it may seem like a gimmick, it’s nice to watch the air purifier do its job rather than simply rely on the fact that it will. For example, if I turn off the Core 400S just before bed, the counter will rise by around a quarter of a point. When you turn it on in the morning, that number will be down to 1 or 2 after approximately an hour.
Even better, you can programme the Levoit Core 400S to automatically vary the fan speed according to the air quality measurements, with low speeds for blue and green, greater speeds for yellow, and the maximum speeds for red.
An accident on the stove set off the Levoit Core 400S’s PM2.5 reading to go above 200, its fan revved like a hot rod, and it was done in 10 minutes.

Levoit Core 400S Air Purifier: Our Hands-On Review
Getting the Levoit Core 400S out of the package was a breeze. Remove the plastic bag from the unit, flip it over, and remove the circular bottom panel by unscrewing the four screws on the left and right sides. The air filter is contained inside a separate bag. To complete the physical setup, remove the filter from the bag, insert it into the air purifier, replace the bottom panel, and turn it over.
Levoit Core 400S may be operated totally from the top panel’s touch screen control. For the most part, you don’t need to configure it as a “smart” device to set a timer or monitor the Air quality. With the app, you can schedule the air purifier and monitor its activity and air quality over time.
The Levoit Core 400S was a breeze to clean. To remove the bottom panel, just turn it over and unscrew it, exactly as you did during setup. (You must first turn the device off.) Straight away, the cylindrical air filter comes out.
There was a tiny coating of lint on the pre-filter layer of the Levoit Core 400S after operating for a few weeks. Although Levoit advises using a soft brush attachment to vacuum out the pre-filter, I was impatient and carried the filter outside, where I brushed the lint off with my fingers instead. You may reach the inner core of the HVAC filters, but Levoit advises against vacuuming out the carbon filter. As for the remainder of the unit, I used a moist towel to clean both the exterior and the inside that I could access to end the day.
The Levoit Core 400S may be controlled via the VeSync app, created by a subsidiary of Levoit. Unlike the built-in control panel, the app allows you to define a schedule for the air purifier rather than merely putting it on a timer. Set a timer for 24 hours instead of 12 using the Core 400S control panel.
Air purifiers are automatically activated whenever the air quality falls below 35 PM2.5. For example, you may use the VeSync app to communicate with other VeSync-enabled products, such as Etekcity smart lamps and bathroom scales, Cosori air fryers or toaster ovens, to create new scenarios.
By swiping up the app’s desktop, you can see how long your air purifier has been operating, how much it has cleaned, and how much filter life is left.
