Bringing technology to your home or office is a worldwide effort. The laptops and PCs we use every day are manufactured in different countries across the globe. But which laptops and PC brands are manufactured in the USA?
There are some great brands that are made right here in the U.S. Some are major companies and others are lesser-known. Some laptops and PCs are assembled in the U.S. but rely on parts produced for shipment overseas. No matter your interests, we’ll cover them below.
Which Laptop and PC Brands Are Manufactured in the USA?
American-made products are a huge advertising point for many companies. Some actually do make products 100% in the USA. But our laptops and PC brands aren’t completely manufactured in the country.
Still, many computer companies have manufacturing facilities in the U.S., providing jobs to American citizens and keeping some revenue here in the States. Most computer parts, including microchips, are manufactured in other countries and then shipped to the U.S.
Our manufacturing plants take those parts and assemble them before they hit the market. While we can’t seem to find a single laptop or PC that’s completely manufactured in the USA, we can find companies that do their designing, engineering, and assembly here.

Velocity Micro — Richmond, VA
Velocity Micro has been producing gaming PCs, laptops, and workstations in Richmond, VA, since 1997. The company is a self-described computer boutique with customizable options for any user. Moreover, the computers are hand-assembled and vigorously tested for quality.
While Velocity Micro does import computer parts from other countries, the company does all of its designing and assembly in-house.
ORIGIN PC — Miami, FL
ORIGIN PC is another computer boutique with headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Miami, Florida. The company, now owned by Corsair, produces high-quality gaming PCs, laptops, and workstations (both laptops and desktops).
Corsair acquired ORIGIN PC (originally founded in 2009) in 2019 and strives to compete with the best of the best in the industry. Similarly to Velocity Micro, ORIGIN PC still designs and assembles its computers right here in the USA.
Eluktronics — DE & PA
Eluktronics is an OEM manufacturer (meaning it uses designs from other companies and manufactures them in-house). With manufacturing facilities in Delaware and Pennsylvania, Eluktronics is becoming an increasingly popular brand in the U.S.
Moreover, the company also produces some components entirely and imports others. Eluktronics prides itself on American-made gaming computers that are both customizable and affordable.
Digital Storm — Morgan Hill, CA
Similarly to the other laptop and PC brands on this list, Digital Storm hand-assembles its products in the USA. Eager consumers will find excellent gaming PCs and other desktops, laptops, and workstations all built by Digital Storm.
Furthermore, the company takes pride in its stringent manufacturing process, especially because no two products will ever be exactly alike. Using a polished skillset, innovative components, and imported hardware, Digital Storm’s assembly plant in Morgan Hill, CA, earned them a spot on our list.
Falcon Northwest — Medford, OR
Falcon Northwest is a PC and laptop manufacturer located in Medford, Oregon. The company has been making PCs for serious users since the early 90s. In fact, the company designs, assembles, sells, and supports all of its computer hardware in the USA.
Unlike the other made-in-the-USA computer companies we’ve listed, Falcon Northwest strives to support its older creations for far longer than most others. Of course, this may also be why it’s very selective with parts and uses as little plastic as possible in its cases.
Lenovo (ThinkPad & ThinkCentre) — Whitsett, NC
- 14-inch IPS panel (1920x1080 resolution)
- Storage: 1TB SSD, RAM: 32GB DDR4
- CPU: Intel's 11th generation Core i5
- Upgradable to the Pro edition of Windows 11
Lenovo is a Chinese brand with a manufacturing plant right here in the USA. Of course, a lot of the parts are imported from other countries, but the ThinkPad and ThinkCentre models are assembled in the USA.
Naturally, these laptops aren’t designed or created in the USA, but nonetheless, there are assembled here, and that has to count for something.
HP — Indianapolis, IN
HP got its start in America over eighty years ago and continues to be a top contender in home and office electronics. From printers to laptops, PCs, and workstations, the company produces a lot of America’s tech. However, most of it isn’t actually made in the USA anymore.
Nevertheless, there’s still an assembly plant in the greater Indianapolis, Indiana area. While the majority of HPs hardware is manufactured in China, the company still has roots in the U.S.
Apple MacBook Pro — Austin, TX
- Liquid Retina display with 1,000 nits brightness
- M2 Pro or M2 Max processor
- Up to 32GB of unified memory
- Touch ID and Magic Keyboard
Apple is an American icon. Initially produced in a small garage, the company has gone global in the past three decades and dominates the tech world with phones, laptops, and desktops. Today, the company has manufacturing plants in Asia, which is where most of its products are made.
However, there is still a manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas, and this is where many MacBook Pro models are born. Of course, some MacBook Pros and their components are made overseas, so look for a “Made in the USA” sticker.
Where are Laptop & PC Parts Made in the USA?
The USA still has quite a few manufacturing plants that are dedicated to tech. However, the majority of the parts for PCs, laptops, and microchips are made in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, and Vietnam.
But if you’re wondering where we make laptops and PCs in the US, here’s a list:
Note: This isn’t a comprehensive list of all the places PCs and laptops are made in the USA.
- California
- Texas
- Oregon
- Indiana
- Delaware
- Pennsylvania
- Florida
- North Carolina
Now, some of the biggest tech companies in the U.S. are in other states, but they don’t produce laptops or PCs, either.
Wrap Up
Laptops and PCs make our lives so much easier. But there are a lot of things to consider before purchasing one. If you want to buy a made-in-the-USA computer, you’ll be dismayed to know that there aren’t any that are 100% produced here.
There are some solid options, though. Review the list above and check out the laptop and PC brands that are still assembling and designing in the USA. Whether you’re looking for custom gaming PCs or the perfect solution for work, you’re sure to find one with ties to the USA.
