Kilowattrel vs. Pawmot Pokémon: What’s the Difference?

Kilowattrel and Pawmot are some of the best Gen 9 finds. Both have similar base stats that are available early on in the game. Here are the differences between these key electric Pokémon.

As a flying-type Pokémon, Kilowattrel’s speed is undeniable. It is also a special attacker and would be a formidable support to a lineup of physical fighters. Kilowattrel’s natural attacks include Sharp Beak, Thunderbolt, and Air Slash, but some of Kilwattrel’s moves are reliant on the setting in which the Pokémon are fighting. Wind power is a situational move that can be boosted with Tailwind to give Kilowattrel an advantage.

Overall, Kilowattrel’s range of moves is relatively limited. If it is fighting another electric-type Pokémon, it will have to fall back to same-type attack bonus (STAB) moves to blast its opponent.

Pawmot is a fighting Pokémon and much more versatile, readily going on the offensive. It does not have the speed of a Kilowattrel, but its move pool and coverage are much better.

Of course, it packs a punch and it has useful moves like Bulk Up, Thunder Punch, and the unique Revival Blessing, which can revive weakened team members, giving you an edge. If you use Double Shock, you can remove the electric-type property from Pawmot mid-fight, so you need to be strategic in combat. Like KiloWattrel, Pawmot has Volt Absorb and also Natural Cure, which is helpful for fighting Pokémon.

About Kilowattrel

Kilowattrel is a 9th-generation electric/flying Pokémon. This large, avian, dual-type Pokémon evolves from Wattrel (Level 25). The evolved bird has black feathers with gray-blue legs and yellow underbelly and underwing. Its tail, which generated the Tailwind attack, is split.

ZigZag detailing on its neck denotes the location of its electric throat sac. Kilowattrel’s eyes are blue and it has a dark red hooked beak.

How Does Kilowattrel Generate and Store Electricity?

Kilowattrel generates electricity using Wind Power. It does this by beating its wings as it flies hundreds of miles, riding the wind. The electricity is stored in its throat sac and is used for offensive moves.

Kilowattrel Weaknesses

One of its notable weaknesses is that its feathers aren’t waterproof, making it a poor swimmer. Other weaknesses of this flying Pokémon include rock and ice-type moves. Kilowattrel is resilient against Ground, Fighting, Steel, Flying, Grass, and Bug-type attacks.

Where Can I Catch Kilowattrel?

Kilowattrel is difficult to catch directly but can be found on the southern shores of the continent in the North, West, and East Paldean Seas. If you have the time and slots, you can easily pick up Wattrel which spawns in spots around the Paldea coastline. It will evolve into Kilowattrel at level 25.

About Pawmot

Pawmot is a 9th-generation electric/fighting Pokémon. This dual-type Pokémon is plump, bipedal, and ground squirrel-like, with a fluffy long tail. Pawmi goes through two medium-fast stages of evolution, from pawmi to pawmo, and pawmo to pawmot after walking 1000 steps.

Pawmot is orange with a tan forepaw and green coloration on the inside of its ears. Its electric sacs, on its cheeks, are yellow. Tufts of fur are on its forehead, long ears, and neck. When it uses its electric attacks, its yellow forepaws become blue.

How Does Pawmot Generate and Store Electricity?

This fighting Pokémon starts slow, but it builds momentum to become a formidable opponent, with fast raining blows. It uses its movements and fluffy fur to generate static electricity that is stored in its cheeks.

Pawmot Weaknesses

Pawmot is weak against fairy, psychic, and ground attacks. However, Pawmot is very versatile with excellent coverage and a wide range of moves. Remember that using its unique Double Shock moves drains Pawmot’s electricity, removing its electric-type status and advantage.

Catching Pawmot

The best way to have a Pawmot is to evolve one from a Pawmi, but you can find Pawmot in the wild. Get the Pawmi to do a little exercise/walking and it will evolve quickly. Pawmi can be found everywhere on the continent, but mainly in South Province and Poco Path.

  • If you grew up watching the Pokémon anime on rotation, you’ll be disappointed to hear that Team Rocket will be blasting off for the last time. The show producers have wound up the Team and disbanded Jesse, James, and Meowth in the final episodes of “Aim To Be A Pokémon Master.”
  • Ash Ketchum is also hanging up his baseball cap after his 25-year run as one of anime’s most famous characters. He leaves the current Pokémon cartoon, “Aim To Be A Pokémon Master” in 2023.

Kilowattrel vs. Pawmot Pokémon: Which One Is Better? Which One Should You Use?

Kilowattrel is a powerful dual-type Pokémon because of its aerial advantage. When combined with electric-type attacks and its powerful Wind Power and Tail Wind moves it becomes formidable. If you have a team with excellent ground-type Pokémon, Kilowattrel adds powerful support to the rest of your team in battle.

However, Pawmot has a vastly greater range of moves and is an excellent fighter. It carries unique moves that are equally supportive to a team, including the powerful Double Shock, Natural Healing, and the special Revival Blessing that it can use to heal teammates. Pawmot offers a comparable level of support to Kilowattrel, but has greater offensive capabilities. Plus, Pawmi is easy to catch, and you only need to walk around a bit to get yourself an evolved Pawmot of your own.
