Learning About Apple Pay
Apple Pay is a straightforward payment system that transforms your iOS device, such as your iPhone, into a digital wallet.
As a result, making card payments is so simple that you won’t even need to remove your physical Wallet from your bag or pocket.
After you set up Apple Pay on your iPhone with a debit or credit card, you can use it directly on your Apple Watch for supported purchases.
However, you will need to set up Apple Pay on your iPhone.
How Does Apple Pay Work?
Apple Pay is the ultimate hassle-free payment option for retail store purchases. Simply walk up to a POS system that is compatible with Apple Pay, and your iPhone screen will automatically light up and open Wallet. From there, you can select a credit card for payment or use the default card associated with Apple Pay. No need for a PIN or signature, and the cashier won’t see your sensitive credit card information, making it a safer option than traditional payment methods.
Thanks to built-in security systems like Touch ID, your iPhone already has all the necessary information stored and validated, eliminating the need for additional verification with a driver’s license or ID card.
Making payments online with Apple Pay is just as easy, as it uses the same credit card and validation process through participating apps that have adopted the Apple Pay API.
However, it is important to note that payments can only be made at retailers that support or accept NFC payments and have adopted the Apple Pay API, whether in-store or online.
So, next time you’re out shopping, remember the convenience and security that comes with using Apple Pay.
