Using Zoom is a great way to connect with the people in your life, be it in a professional or personal capacity. All you have to do is sign up for an account, download the Zoom client or app and you’re ready to schedule a meeting or join one.
Zoom is also great for sharing your screen so participants can follow what you’re saying, but sometimes you might need to share audio as well so they can get the full picture. Read on to discover how to share your computer’s audio in a Zoom meeting in a few easy steps.
How to Share Audio From the Start of a Meeting
If you want to share the audio from your computer from the get-go, it’s quite simple. This is how to do it.
Step 1: Start or Join a Meeting

There are a few ways to do this. You can open the Zoom client, navigate to the home page and click the New Meeting icon to quickly start a meeting, or Join to join a meeting.

Alternatively, if you want to schedule a future meeting, go to the “Meetings” tab, and click the “plus” icon at the top of the left sidebar. Fill out the meeting information and click Save.

Another way on a Mac is to click the Zoom icon in the top toolbar, and then click Start Meeting with Video, Start Meeting without Video or Join a Meeting. To join a meeting this way, you’ll need the Meeting ID or Link Name.

Step 2: Activate Audio Sharing

Now, you’ll see a popup as the meeting starts. Click the Join with Computer Audio, and your audio will be automatically shared with everyone else in the meeting.
How to Share Audio During a Meeting
Sometimes, you might not want to have your audio shared right from the start of a meeting, or perhaps you simply forgot. Don’t worry, there’s no need to end the meeting and start another one. Find out how to activate audio sharing below.

As before, start or join a meeting.

By clicking the green Share Screen button at the bottom, a window will be brought up. In the “Basic” tab, you can share a window from your computer.

In the “Advanced” tab, you’ll see more options, including sharing a portion of your screen. The “Files” tab allows you to share external files from a cloud service.
In any case, if you click the Share sound button in the bottom left before clicking Share, the audio from that window or file will be played.

If you want to continue screen sharing but stop sharing sound, you can click the More button in the Zoom toolbar, then select Share Computer Sound to toggle this on and off. You can also use this option if you didn’t select to share your audio when sharing your screen.

How to Share Your Audio Without Sharing Your Screen
Sometimes, you might need to share your audio when sharing your screen isn’t necessary. Luckily, there is a way to do this, which we’ve detailed below.
Step 1: Start or Join a Meeting
Just like we did previously, hop into a meeting or begin one.
Step 2: Go to the “Share Screen” Advanced Settings
Click the same Share Screen button as before, but this time, go to the “Advanced” tab.

You’ll see a “Computer Audio” icon in this tab. If you double-click this, you’ll begin sharing your computer’s audio without sharing your screen as well.
How to Share Your Audio on the Zoom Mobile App
If you’re on the go or would just rather conduct a meeting from your mobile, you can share your audio this way as well. Read on to find out how to do this.

Open the Zoom app, then either start or join a meeting by pressing the icons at the top.
Step 2: Share Your Screen

Next, tap the Share button in the bottom control bar, then scroll down and tap Screen. This will begin to share your screen.

After this, you’ll automatically be brought back to your phone’s home screen, where you’ll see a small taskbar. Simply press the Share Audio button to toggle audio sharing on and off.
