Well, that is understandable because TikTok offers a continuous stream of video content at all times; therefore, it can be challenging to find videos you liked in the past.
You may be looking for your liked videos in TikTok because among them are videos you chose for their educational or entertainment value and want to rewatch them. You may also want to share the videos with family and friends or use them as inspiration while creating your content.
Another reason to want to see your liked videos is to understand why TikTok keeps displaying certain content on your “For You” page. That is because your liked videos inform the TikTok algorithm of the type of videos you want to see on your feed.
Whatever your reason for wanting to see your liked videos, the following article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to see your liked videos in TikTok.
How to See Your Liked Videos in TikTok
Liking videos on TikTok is an excellent way of showing content makers appreciation for the time and energy spent creating the videos. However, seeing the videos you have liked is not as straightforward. You will need to follow the steps below to find them.
Step 1: Open the TikTok app
As with anything people do, there needs to be a starting point. The starting point is going to your phone’s applications list and opening the TikTok app and logging in.
Step 2: Go to Your Profile Page
When you open the TikTok app, the first thing you see is the TikTok homepage displaying your “For You” page which contains content the app’s algorithm thinks you will like.
On that page, find the icon shaped like a person’s head and shoulders labeled Profile in the screen’s bottom right corner. Tap the icon to open your profile page.
Step 3: Click the Liked Videos Tab
When you get to your profile page, the first thing you will see is the videos you have posted, if any. Towards the top of your screen, you will see your profile picture, the number of people you follow and those following you, and the number of likes your videos have received. You will also see the Edit Profile option and four icons under it.
The heart icon with an eye and line going through it is the Liked Videos icon. Click on that icon, and you will see a list of videos you have liked.
Now, you can go through each video to remind yourself why you initially liked them. Suppose you use TikTok for a long time or like many videos whenever you use the app. Finding your older liked videos in TikTok can take some time. You may have to scroll to the bottom to see the videos you liked months or years ago.
How to See How Many Likes Your Videos Have
The number of likes your TikTok content receives gives you a significant confidence boost. That proves people understand, appreciate, or connect with your content. The popularity of your videos can also allow you access to economic opportunities. For example, brands could pay you to advertise their products to your followers hence the need to analyze how many likes your videos receive regularly.
There are three ways of seeing how many likes your video has.
Method #1
You can see how many people liked your videos by simply opening the video you posted. Open the TikTok app, then tap the profile icon on your screen’s bottom right corner. When you get to the profile page, scroll through the videos you have created to find the one you need.
Once you locate the video of interest, tap it to play it. On the right side of the screen, you will see several icons. The second icon shaped like a heart is TikTok’s Like button, and under it, you will see a number indicating how many people have liked that video.
Method #2
The second method you can use to see those who have liked your videos is similar to the first. You need to open the TikTok app and tap the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to leave the homepage and go to the profile page.
Once you are on the profile page, select the video with the information you need. When the video plays, look for the Comments icon that looks like a speech bubble with three dots inside it towards the right of the screen.
When you tap the Comments icon, you will see people who have commented on your post. At the top of the Comments box, you need to tap on Likes to see a list of all the people who have liked that video.
Method #3
The final way to see who has liked your videos involves checking your notifications. TikTok notifies its users whenever your videos receive a like or a comment.
To see the like notifications the app sends, first open the TikTok app, then tap the Inbox icon at the bottom of the screen between the profile and the + icons.
In the Inbox page, tap Activities which will take you to a page containing information about people who have liked, favorited, and commented on your videos and those who have tagged you in their videos or mentioned you.
At the top of the page, you should tap All Activity, and on the drop-down menu that you see, select Likes and Favorites to filter only notifications of people who have liked your content.
Important note: this method does not focus on a single video. It shows you who has liked all of your videos.
Who Can See Your Liked Videos in TikTok
As with all social media platforms, there are privacy concerns among TikTok users. No one likes sensitive information about themselves being available to anyone on such platforms. That is why social media platforms allow users to set privacy standards that make them comfortable.
On TikTok, there are several areas where users can adjust the privacy settings, like who can see their liked videos. That is because the videos you like on TikTok say a lot about who you are; therefore, people who see them can make certain conclusions about you and your life.
By default, the only person who can see your liked TikTok videos is you, though you can change those settings by following the steps below.
Step 1: Open Your Profile Page
Open the TikTok app, then select the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Go to the Settings Menu
After opening your profile page, select the icon with three horizontal lines (known as a hamburger menu) on the top right corner of the screen, which will produce a menu from which you should choose the Settings and Privacy option.
Step 3: Select Privacy
The Settings and Privacy page provides all the information you need to know about the TikTok app before you begin creating content, including the guidelines on content creation. Under the Account section of the menu, select Privacy, where you decide who can watch your videos and see your liked videos in TikTok, among other privacy settings.
Step 4: Click on Liked Videos and Make Changes
Scroll down the Privacy menu until you get to the Interactions section of the settings. Under Interactions, go to Liked Videos and click on it. You will see a pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen that will allow you to choose whether everyone can see your liked videos.
