You can delete one or more Gmail accounts on your iPhone when you no longer need them. How you remove them will depend on how and where the Gmail account was added.
In this guide, we’ll show you three simple ways to delete a Gmail account on iPhone. Let’s get started!
Methods to Delete a Gmail Account on Your iPhone
Method #1: Using Settings
If you use the iPhone Mail app, you’ll need to go through Settings to remove a Gmail account.
Step 1. Open Settings.
If you can’t find the Settings app on your home screen, swipe down on the middle of the screen and type Settings into the search bar.
Another way to access your Settings app is to search for it in the App Library. Swipe left from the home screen to open your App Library and you should see a search bar at the top.

Step 2. Open Contacts.
Scroll down until you see Contacts.

Step 3. Tap on Accounts.
There should be a number next to Accounts that shows how many email accounts are currently connected to your iPhone.

Step 4. Choose the Gmail account you want to delete.
A list of accounts will appear. Select the one you want to be removed from your iPhone.
Step 5. Delete the account.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Read the on-screen confirmation and tap Delete from My iPhone.

Method #2: Using the Gmail App
Step 1. Open the Gmail app.

Step 2. Tap the profile picture.
You’ll find your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Select Manage accounts on this device.
The Choose an account page will open, displaying all accounts connected to your device.

Step 4. Tap Remove from this device.
A popup window will appear asking you to confirm. Hit the Remove button to confirm.

Method #3: Using Safari
Step 1. Launch the Safari browser.
The Safari app is usually located on the iPhone Dock, the row of apps at the bottom of the home screen, but can vary depending on customization settings. If you don’t see it, try using the search bar to look up Safari.
From the home screen, swipe down on the middle of the screen to bring up the search bar. You can also swipe left from the home screen to open the App Library. The App Library is also searchable.
Then, go to the Gmail website here.

Step 2. Tap Menu.
The hamburger menu is located in the top left corner of the screen — the icon appears as three stacked horizontal lines.

Step 3. Tap the Gmail account you want to delete.
This will open a drop-down menu from which you can choose to sign out of all accounts. The Choose an Account page will open, from which you can manage all accounts connected to your device.

4. Select Remove an account.
A round red button will appear beside each account. Tap the one you want to remove. A popup will appear asking you to confirm, click Yes, remove to finalize the account removal.
