Step 2: Select a Video

Choose a video you want to save to a playlist on YouTube. You can search for it or pull it from your history, but look for the 3-dot menu on the video. Click on the dots to open a sub-menu where you’ll see an option for playlists. Select Save to Playlist.

When you choose Save to Playlist, you’re presented with a pop-up that shows any playlists linked to your account. You can save the video to an existing playlist here or click on Create new playlist to make a new one.

Selecting Create a new playlist gives you the option to name your playlist and set access to the public. Type the name of your YouTube playlist into the field, choose the level of privacy and click Create to finalize the playlist.

Setting up YouTube Playlists on Smartphones and Tablets

If you want to make a playlist on YouTube through the Android or iPhone app it’s just as easy as it is from a PC. You can add any video to a playlist on mobiles through the 3-dot menu as you do on the web. You can also set one up from the Library section, which is handy for recently viewed videos.

Step 1: Open the YouTube App

Step 4: Add Content

Now you can choose to create a playlist from your recently watched videos. Select the box next to each video you want to include and tap on Next. Set a title and permissions for your new playlist and select Create to complete the process.

To add someone to a YouTube playlist as a collaborator you need to access the playlist section of your account. You can do this by going to the library and choosing playlists, which brings up a list of all playlists linked to your account.
