When Paramount Plus came on the scene in 2021, it charged head-first into an already crowded streaming market. Thanks to parent company Viacom, the newcomer came fully stocked with a large catalog of shows and movies from CBS, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and, of course, Paramount Pictures.
With a deep stable of content, the fledgling streaming service quickly became a competitor. Odds are if you are reading this, you’ve either already joined the service or you’ve been wowed by its library and are looking to.
Either way, we will show you how to get Paramount Plus on a Samsung TV. Let’s break down the easy steps below!
Steps to Get Paramount Plus on a Samsung TV
Step 1: Select Apps
Your Samsung smart TV should automatically bring you to the home page when you first turn it on. This is where you will see icons for apps recently used and a few advertisements for suggested programming.
Select the Apps icon and it will take you to the My Apps screen.

Step 2: Select the Search Icon
From the Apps screen locate the icon that looks like a little magnifying glass to access the search screen. This will bring up a keyboard on the screen that you can control with your remote.

Step 3: Search for Paramount Plus
Type Paramount Plus on the keyboard, although you may only get a few letters in before your Samsung TV automatically gives you the option to select Paramount Plus. As soon as you see the option appear, click on it.

Step 4: Log in
Once the app is selected, you will be taken to a welcome screen where you will be asked to log in.
If you are a member, go ahead and enter your username and password. Once you are properly logged in, you will automatically be taken to Paramount’s loading screen. If you are not a member, take the opportunity to sign up for the service. If you need help with that, read on.

Signing Up with Paramount Plus
If you’re not already a subscriber, you will need to select a plan. You can also add Showtime to any plan.
Step 1: Select a Plan
Paramount Plus offers two plans that users can select from. No matter which plan you chose, a one-week free trial is included.
The Essential Plan
This is the standard ad-based plan. It will set you back $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year and includes all the movies and shows you’d expect from a streaming service. It also includes live sports such as Champions League soccer and the NFL on CBS. It also includes live news presented by CBS News.
The Premium Plan
This plan includes everything the Essential Plan does, but it is ad-free on the movies and shows. Live sports are not ad-free because of the nature of live television, but most of the content on the Premium Plan won’t have any disruptive ads. This plan also includes live access to your local CBS station (also not ad-free because of the limitations of live TV). Maybe best of all, the Premium Plan allows downloads, meaning you can enjoy your favorite shows and movies without any glitches or breaks for buffering. The Premium Plan costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

Showtime Add-On
There is also the option to add Showtime to either plan which is pretty self-explanatory. Oddly, both the Essential Plan with Showtime and the Premium Plan with Showtime cost $11.99 per month or $119.00 a year. If you are planning to bundle Paramount Plus with Showtime, you might as well get Premium. More features, fewer ads, same cost? Seems to be a no-brainer.
Step 2: Create an Account
Once you have selected your plan, you need to create your Paramount Plus account. You will need to enter some basic personal information like your name, birth date, gender, and zip code. You also need to take this opportunity to select a password.

Step 3: Enter Payment
Finally, you will have to input a form of payment. Of course, a debit or credit card will do, but Paramount has also made it easy to use PayPal.
If you need help setting that up, you can read more here. You will also need to input the information that accompanies your payment such as your name and billing address.
When all that is done, you’ll be ready to stream. Don’t forget that Paramount Plus gives new subscribers a one-week free trial, so you won’t be charged until the following week. As soon as you finish the sign-up process, Paramount will inform you of the date your account will be charged as well as the date you need to cancel if your wish to avoid any charge.
