We can help you install Disney+ so that you can stream all the magic with ease. You don’t have to wish upon a star. Just follow these four easy steps.

When you first turn on your Samsung smart TV, you should automatically be on the home page. This page should include lots of options, including a page for apps. Simply select the “Apps” screen icon and you’re on your way.

Step 2: From the Apps Screen Select the Search Icon in the Top Right Corner

Once you have properly logged in, you will automatically be taken to the Disney+ loading screen. The page will ask you to log in or sign up. Obviously log in at this stage if you are already a member, or sign up if you are not. You can do it right there on your TV screen.

Signing Up With Disney+ on a Samsung TV

If you don’t have an existing account, there may be a few extra steps involved, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through those as well. But first things first: you need to decide which plan you want.

Disney+ on a Samsung TV: Plan Options

There are five main options when it comes to plans on Disney+:

1. Disney Basic

This is just ad-supported Disney+ and nothing else. It costs $7.99 a month.

2. Disney Premium

This is ad-free Disney+. It will set you back $10.99 a month.

3. Duo Basic

Duo Basic is a package deal where you get both Disney+ and Hulu. Two streaming services for the price of one! The cost is $9.99 per month, and it is also ad-supported, which means you will have to watch commercials.

4. Trio Basic

This option is the same as Duo Basic, but it also includes ESPN Plus. So if you have a sports fan in your household, this might be the plan for you. Trio Basic costs $12.99 a month and is also ad-supported, so there will be commercials with this one as well.

5. Trio Premium

Trio Premium is the plan for people who hate ads. You get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Plus for $19.99 a month. Only this premium option is not ad-supported, so you can stream all you want without sitting through any annoying ads. The only exception to this is ESPN Plus. There is no way to get ESPN Plus without ads. This probably has to do with the flow of live sports.

If you’ve ever been to a professional or major collegiate sporting event that was being televised or covered on the radio, you know that media timeouts, or breaks in the action so that the various media outlets covering the game can take an ad break and fulfill their obligations to their various sponsors, are an ordinary thing.

Disney+ on a Samsung TV: Signing In

Once you have selected the plan that’s right for you, now you need to complete the process of signing up for the service. You’ll need an email address and a valid credit or debit card. You’ll also need to create a password.

Step 1: Fill in Your Email

The first screen you are going to see will ask you to enter an email address. Make sure it is an active email that you can access regularly and that you don’t mind receiving communications from Disney. If it is a business email, they may clutter your inbox with emails about promotions and offers. If it is a spam or throwaway account, you may miss important emails about service and billing. Also, make sure that it is an email address that you will remember because it will essentially be your login name from now on.

Step 2: Fill in Your Password

Next, they will ask you to select a password. Like most password systems, it is case-sensitive, so be mindful of that. Strong passwords should contain a mix of alphanumeric and special characters. If you’re having trouble remembering all the passwords we have to create these days, you may want to try a password manager like 1Password or Keeper.

Step 3: Personal Info and Payment

After you have your login info set, it’s time to get personal. You need to give personal information such as your name, address, birth date, and payment information. It’s a good idea to set up a reliable payment method so that your monthly bill can be automatically deducted, eliminating the need to repeat this process once a month. Of course, you could always opt to pay the annual lump sum upfront. Then you will not have to worry about payments for an entire year.

Disney+ Deserves to Be Cinematic

We hope that this article has been a helpful guide for connecting Disney+ to your Samsung TV. One of the reasons that we recommend installing it on your home television is to view these original movies and TV shows in their full cinematic glory, rather than streaming from your cell phone or laptop.

Direct-to-streaming releases for both TV and movies have steadily risen in popularity since the pandemic began with viewers stuck at home. However, despite the easy access to streaming content, we recommend watching on a TV to get better sound and picture quality. Using a TV (such as a Samsung smart TV), or even a projector, for your home viewing content pays respect to the creators and gives you the most immersive viewing experience possible outside of a theater.

Disney+ on a Different Device

While your Samsung TV will obviously be the optimal place for you to experience all the magic, it’s good to keep in mind that you can experience Disney+ on several devices, including laptops, phones, and tablets. Both Apple and Android devices are Disney+ friendly. And for gamers, both X-Box and PlayStation support Disney+.

Disney+ on a Samsung TV: Conclusion

So now you have installed Disney+ on your Samsung TV, you have selected your plan, and your brand new account is set up and ready to go. The only problem you should be left with is deciding what to watch.

How to Get Disney+ on a Samsung TV in 4 Easy Steps, With Photos FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Do I have to get Hulu?

At the time of this article’s publishing, no. There is an option to get Disney+ a la carte. It doesn’t have to be bundled with Hulu, or ESPN Plus. But a bundle with Hulu isn’t necessarily a bad idea. The branding for the Disney Plus service is very specific. If it doesn’t fall into one of the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, or Nat Geo buckets, you probably won’t find it on Disney (The Simpsons being the one notable exception).

Can I get ESPN Plus without ads?

Unfortunately not. Although ESPN Plus has more to offer than just live sports, the fact that it streams live events means that Disney simply cannot offer the service entirely ad-free. Live sports take media breaks and rather than present dead air, ESPN presents ads, even on streaming.

Isn't Disney Plus just for kids?

It’s definitely the most kid-friendly of the major streaming services, but that doesn’t mean it’s exclusively for children. They have a lot of programming that will appeal to adults that are still kids at heart, as well as those who aren’t. Exclusive shows from the Star Wars and Marvel universes will appeal to many grown-ups. Or if comedy is more your thing, Disney Plus is streaming every episode ever of The Simpsons.  For those more academically inclined, Nat Geo has a library of documentaries that cover everything from astronomy to nature and even history.

How much does Disney Plus cost?

It depends on the plan you choose. Disney Basic includes the Disney+ service only and it is not ad-free. It costs $7.99 a month. Disney Premium is $10.99 a month, and it is the same thing as Disney Basic, except this one is ad-free. Duo Basic includes ad-supported Disney Plus and Hulu streaming services and it costs $9.99 a month. Trio basic is the same as Duo, but you also get ESPN Plus, and all that will set you back $12.99 a month. Finally, Premium Plus is ad-free Disney Plus, ad-free Hulu, and ESPN Plus, all for $19.99 a month.

Does Disney Plus offer a free trial period?

No. Unfortunately, Disney+ does not offer a free trial period. Certain Verizon plans do offer Disney+ or the bundles. So, if you are a Verizon customer, you may want to check with your service provider to see if your plan qualifies you to take advantage of this perk.
