How To Find PayPal Account Number: In 4 Steps (With Photos)

Most financial institutions provide some variation of account numbers. We use them for various things, from paying for things online to signing up for a direct deposit. However, PayPal isn’t like most financial institutions. While PayPal doesn’t issue account numbers, we can show you how to find important information about your PayPal account.

PayPal uses your email address to identify your PayPal account. On the other hand, some PayPal customers (business customers) and those with PayPal Prepaid debit cards do have ID numbers. Scroll through the sections below to learn how to find your PayPal account’s identifying information.

How to Find PayPal Account Email on Mobile

We’ll start by covering the basics. Anyone with a PayPal account has a registered email. We often use this email to identify our accounts, send money, and receive it. So, if that’s what you need to do, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the PayPal App

Launch the PayPal app on your mobile device and ensure you’re signed into the right account.

Step 2: Tap Your Profile Icon

Now, tap your profile icon in the top left corner.

Select Account info at the top of the menu.

Finally, you can see the email address you used to sign up for PayPal.

How to Find PayPal Account Email on a Web Browser – Personal Account

If you prefer to find your account email on a browser, you can. Of course, the steps vary depending on whether you have a personal or business PayPal account. If you have the former, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log into PayPal

Start by logging into your PayPal account on a web browser.

Step 2: Click the Settings Cog

Those with a personal PayPal account will see a settings cog in the upper right corner. Select the settings cog.

Note: If you don’t see a settings cog but you see your profile information in the top right corner, go to the next section.

Step 3: View Your Account Email

Now, you can see your email near the top of the screen.

How to Find PayPal Account Email on a Web Browser – Business Account

Finally, follow these instructions to reveal your account email if you have a business account:

Step 1: Log Into PayPal

Sign into your PayPal account on a web browser.

Step 2: Click Your Profile Icon

You won’t see a settings cog at the top right corner. Instead, you’ll see your name and profile icon. Click that.

A small drop-down menu will appear. Click Profile Settings.

Finally, view your PayPal account email.

How to Find PayPal Merchant ID – Business Account

If you’re a business owner, you should know how to find your PayPal Merchant ID. This number is the identifier that lets you receive payments. If there’s ever an issue with your account or chargebacks, this is the number you’ll need.

Here’s how to find it:

Step 1: Log into PayPal

Start by logging into your PayPal account.

Note: Ensure you log into your business account. Personal accounts won’t have the option to view a Merchant ID.

Step 2: Click Your Profile Picture

You’ll know you are logged into a business account when you don’t see a settings cog in the top right corner. Rather, you see your profile picture and name. Click that to move forward.

Step 3: Click Account Settings

Click Account Settings in the small drop-down menu.

Step 4: Click Business Information

Now, you’ll see a menu on the left. You may need to scroll down a bit, but select Business Information when you see it.

Step 5: View Your Merchant ID

Finally, you can view your PayPal Merchant ID.

You can find your PayPal Merchant ID under the Business Information section of your Business Profile.

Helpful hint: It may be a good idea to copy this ID and save it somewhere. However, it’s also a good idea to keep this ID safe and secure.

How to Find Your PayPal Credit Card Account Number

If you have a PayPal Prepaid Debit Card, you’ll need a routing number and account number to set up direct deposit. Fortunately, there are a few options to find this number. The routing number to Bankcorp Bank is 114924742. But here’s how to find your PayPal account number.

Via Text

You can send a text to get your account number. It’s a completely automated process. Of course, you must send the text from the phone number that’s linked to your PayPal account. Here’s what to do:

Send a text to 22622. Type Direct in the text field.

PayPal will automatically reply with your PayPal Prepaid Debit account number to your phone.

Note: This method won’t work if you haven’t enrolled in Real-Time Alerts.

Via Phone

You can also call PayPal to get your PayPal account number. Dial 866-753-6440. Then, select Other Services from the menu options. Finally, you can retrieve your PayPal account number.

Via Your Online Account

Finally, you can retrieve your PayPal account number in your online account.

If your PayPal Prepaid Debit card is linked to your online account, you can click Add/Manage Money from the account center. Select Direct Deposit. Then, you can view the information you need to enroll in direct deposit.
