Welcome to the world of fitness tracking with the Apple Watch! As an Apple Watch user, you’re probably familiar with the wide range of Fitness Goals you can set on your watch to help you stay on top of your daily activity. But, sometimes our fitness plans need a little modification — that’s where adjusting your Apple Watch Goals comes in.
In today’s article, we’ll guide you through the process of making changes to your Fitness Goals on your Apple Watch. Whether you’re looking to up the ante or just switch things up, we’ve got you covered.
So, grab your Apple Watch, and let’s get started on our journey to a healthier and more active lifestyle!
How to Change Goals on an Apple Watch
The Apple Watch uses a unique visual system of three rings to show your activity level throughout the day. One red, green, and blue ring, each denoting a specific area of your fitness goals.
The red ring is your Move meter, the green one is your Exercise meter, and the blue one is your Stand meter. They give you a visual representation of how close to achieving your goals you are. When the ring closes, you have reached your goal!
Since the Apple Watch automatically sets your goals for you based on your demographics, you might want to alter them to be more personalized. While Apple tries its best to match your goals to your height, weight, age, and gender, there is always a reason to change your goals.
Maybe you want to start running more, or perhaps you are trying to burn off a few pounds. Maybe you want to pack some muscle and stamina for that upcoming triathlon! Or, you’re like most of us –- just trying to make sure we stay active enough during the day!
Whatever the case, it’s easy to change your goals on Apple Watch by following the below steps.
Step 1: Open Activity App
Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch and begin your workout.

Step 2: Swipe up or down using the Crown option on the Apple Watch
Now, just tap change goals toward the bottom of your display.

Step 3: Change Goals
Using the plus and minus signs, respectively, you may raise or lower your objectives to suit your desired goal.
Move Goal: The number of calories that you wish to burn off each day. Trying to lose weight or stay fit and trim? Your Apple Watch wants to help, and you can adjust your goals up or down here.

Exercise Goal: Minutes of vigorous activity each week is the goal for this workout. You want to keep moving to keep the blood flowing and ensure an active lifestyle. Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t be on the move ALL day. As long as you set reasonable goals and try your best, your Apple Watch will be there to cheer you on.

Stand Time: Amount of time that you are required to stand at various points during the day. A healthy lifestyle involves a lot more standing and a lot less sitting!
