Twitch.tv is a video live streaming service for gamers, but it also features news, politics, and other types of content. When you pay a monthly subscription fee to a creator, you get ad-free content with special badges and more. However, after months of use, you may want out. Maybe you’re not using your account enough or not getting value. No matter the reason, you can cancel a subscription on Twitch or even delete Twitch.
If you signed up on the Twitch website, you can cancel via your web browser or mobile app. However, those who signed up with Apple Pay must cancel the subscription there. We’ll walk you through the steps in a moment!
How to Find Your Twitch Subscriptions
Before we dive directly into our tutorials, you’ll have to find your Twitch subscriptions. Unfortunately, you can’t simply log into your account on the website and cancel all of your Twitch subs. You must go back to the point of sale (the method you used to sign up). Twitch does make it much simpler, unlike other subscription services with a similar policy. If you prefer to keep a little money in your pocket and watch some ads during live streams instead, follow the steps below!
Note: If you’re canceling your Twitch subs on the mobile app, you can do all of them in one place.
Step 1: Log Into Twitch
First, go to the Twitch.tv website and sign into your account by clicking Log In at the top right corner.
Note: If using a mobile web browser, click the menu icon and then click Desktop View.
Step 2: Click Your Profile Icon
Click on your Profile icon at the far top right corner.
Step 3: Click Subscriptions
Click Subscriptions in the dropdown menu that appears.
Step 4: Click Through the Tabs
Click on the tabs at the top of the page to find your subscription. For example, if you see your subscription under the My Subscriptions tab, you can cancel it by following the steps in the Twitch Desktop section. If you see your subscription under the Mobile, scroll down to the iOS section.
Now that you know where to go, head to the section that applies to your Twitch subscription and follow the steps to cancel it.
How to Cancel a Twitch Subscription – Twitch Desktop
Perhaps you have the Twitch desktop app or like watching live streams on a browser. If so, you probably signed up for Twitch using the website, and you can also cancel from there. Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Log Into Your Twitch Account
Visit the Twitch.tv website and click Log in in the upper right corner. Then, input your username and password.
Note: You may need a secondary verification method to log in.
Step 2: Click Your Profile Icon
After logging into your account, click your Profile icon in the top right corner.
Step 3: Click Subscriptions
A new dropdown menu will appear. Click Subscriptions in the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Click the Setting Cog
Now you will see a list of your subscriptions on this screen (ensure you’re on the Your Subscriptions tab). Locate the sub you want to cancel and click the Settings cog in the top right corner of the channel’s subscription window.
Step 5: Click Don’t Renew Subscription
Finally, click Don’t Renew Subscription in the dropdown menu.
In the following video, YouTuber Dusty Porter provides an excellent walkthrough of how to cancel a Twitch subscription via the Twitch Desktop:
How to Cancel a Twitch Subscription – Twitch Mobile
You can also cancel Twitch subscriptions using the Twitch mobile app! This method is much simpler than the desktop method. You can cancel any Twitch subscriptions right here, regardless of how you signed up.
So, if you have your mobile device handy, and have already installed the Twitch app, follow these steps to cancel your subscription:
Step 1: Click Your Profile Icon
Launch the Twitch mobile app and ensure you sign into your account. Then, tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
Step 2: Click Subscriptions
Similar to the instructions above, a dropdown menu will appear. Click Subscriptions in the menu.
Step 3: Click the Sub

Step 4: Click Cancel Subscription
Finally, click Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the page.
How Do Twitch Subscriptions Work?
Before we let you go, let’s talk briefly about how Twitch subs work. When you sign up for a Twitch sub, your plan will automatically renew on the same day every month (or every year for an annual sub). Twitch will deduct the subscription fee from the original payment method used to sign up on the same day each cycle.
You’ll still access all the benefits and badges until the next billing cycle. Twitch doesn’t prorate the monthly fee, and you won’t get any money back. However, there is a refund option on the desktop site. If you were billed erroneously, scroll back up to the second section above and follow the steps. But instead of clicking the option to cancel, click the Refund option.
Twitch keeps a rolling count of your monthly subscriptions to a particular channel, and you earn more badges for each month you pay. If you cancel this month and reactivate later, you’ll still get any advanced badges you had previously.
Twitch is even more fun with emotes, badges, and without ads. However, monthly subscription fees can add up and compel you to end your membership. Fortunately, Twitch makes it really easy to cancel subscriptions.
