Method 1.1: Blocking Websites Using Browser Add-Ons 

Some browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera Mini, have browser add-ons that you can use to block websites. Unfortunately, these add-ons are missing from some browsers, such as Chrome. Here is how to block websites using browser add-ons on Mozilla Firefox.

Step 1: Launch Firefox on Your Device

Step 2: Go to Firefox Add-ons

Tap “Add” in the bottom right corner of the new prompt to add the add-on to Firefox. 

Step 5: Open the LeechBlock NG Add-on Settings

Go back to the browser and tap the three lines in the bottom right corner to open a menu, then select “Add-ons.” The LeechBlock NG add-on will be under “Enabled.” Click the add-on title for more options, then select “Settings.”

Tap the text field below “Enter the domain names of the sites to block (one item per line)” and enter the URL of the site you intend to block.

If you are not ready to let go of Chrome or another browser that lacks blocking add-ons, you can download the Blocksite app. This app is available from the Google Play Store and will help you block sites in your browser. Here is how to do this.

Step 3: Add the Website to Block

On the new page, enter the site URL you intend to block in the field provided. Ensure that you enter the full URL to enable blocking. Alternatively, tap on the suggestions provided if they include what you want to block. After entering the URLs, tap “Next” at the top of the page.

Enter the days and times when you intend to block the site you entered, and click “Next” at the top of the screen. After this step, you will have blocked the selected site for the specified time.
