Whether you’re a gamer, comic book fan, or love media from the big and small screens, Funko has a figure that would look perfect in your collection. Funko Pops inspired by action movies and TV shows is one of the more popular niches and an area with hundreds of options. While there isn’t a POP! for every action flick, the selection is certainly impressive.
Collecting Funko Pops from Movies and TV Shows
Are you a fan of Harry Potter or Game of Thrones? Funko caters to those audiences along with most popular franchises. There are figures from newer cult classics like Stranger Things along with older films from Jaws to Nosferatu.
A rough count shows around 1500 figures in the POP! Movies collection and almost as many related to TV shows. Keep in mind, those numbers include variants of figures, exclusives, and characters that cross over into other genres. Action fans do have a wealth of options, although the selection pales when compared to Funko POP! figures from fantasy, sci-fi, and horror franchises.
The Best Funko Pops Inspired by Action Movies and TV Shows
Pop Movies! Die Hard Die Hard John McClane
Is it more of a Christmas movie or an action flick? While we won’t get into that debate, nobody denies Die Hard is a beloved film full of action and humor. John McClaine gets plenty of love from Funko, along with a few other fan favorites from the franchise.
Our top POP! for action fans is this figure of John McClane in a classic pose. Our hero has on his famous tank top, is barefoot, and is a bit bloodied. The figure is #667 from the POP! Movies collection and was released in 2018. There is a shirtless variant sold as a Target Exclusive and two versions of the villainous Hans Gruber as well.
- Bruce Willis from the holiday action movie, Die Hard.
- Iconic pose with bloody tank top.
- POP! Movies #667
- Sarcasm not included
Funko POP! Indiana Jones 10-Inch Exclusive
Disney characters have always been a hot commodity with Funko collectors. Lucas Film didn’t join the House of Mouse until 2012, but they’ve had a significant impact in more ways than one. While Star Wars Pops didn’t make our list, another popular franchise has a figure that’s a must-have for 80s action fans.
Raiders of the Lost Ark kept people glued to their seats in 1981, and this POP! does Indy justice. Funko Pop #885 features Indiana Jones holding the Golden Idol in one hand, and whip in the other. He’s ready for action in his trademark outfit and will tower over other figures from his collection considering he’s 10 inches tall. This Disney Park Exclusive should only increase will value over time.
- 10" Funko Pop
- Disney Parks Exclusive
- Emerald City Comic Con
- #885 from the POP! Disney collection
POP Movies! John Wick and Dog
The first modern action hero to make our list is one of the best. Mr. Wick doesn’t have nearly as many Funko figures as other characters from popular franchises, and Funko was late to the party with this figure. John Wick with Dog isn’t a collectible to overlook, and is one of the best Funko Pops inspired by action movies
Funko released two figures of John Wick from the sequel before this collective arrived in 2020. John Wick with Dog is from the POP! Movies collection #580. This standard-height figure shows John in his signature suit before and between transformations into Baba Yaga.
- John in a fresh suit
- POP! Movies #580
- Standard-sized figure
- Dog included
James Bond POP! Rides
Shaken, not stirred. If you know that line, you’re a fan of the Bond franchise. Funko doesn’t have a figure of every Bond to grace the screen, and we’re not going to try and pick a favorite Bond. If you’re looking for a collectible figure that’s iconic, you’ll want to consider James and his iconic car.
The Funko POP! Rides series gives collectors a chance to own famous characters with their matching rides. In this case, it’s James Bond with Aston Martin, which is 44 in the Funko Rides series. This version of James will take up a little more space on display but is one of the more popular POP! from the Bond collection.
- Bond driving his classic Aston Martin
- POPS! Rides #44
- Around 5 inches tall
- 2018 Funko release
POP Movies! The Kingsman Eggsy
Funko’s movie and TV figure collection has a focus on modern and older characters, but this star comes from another new action franchise. The Kingsman’s crew could give John Wick a run for his money, and the only way to start a Kingsman collection than with Eggsy.
Eggys is the star of the original Kingsman, and fans will instantly recognize these two fun Funko Pops. Funko POP Movies #463 is a 2-pack of sorts with Eggys and JB. The figure shows Eggys in streetwear and is the only Funko figure of this character outside of a keychain. Valentine, Gazelle, and Harry are also available if you’d like to add more of the movie’s wacky characters to your collection.
- Eggsy in pre-Kingsman attire
- POP! Movies #463
- 2017 Kingsman Funko Pop Collection
- JB included
Funko POP! Movies Fast and Furious Dom Toretto
The second car-loving figure to make our list loves his ride more than Bond. The Fast and Furious franchise has produced jaw-dropping moments for more than a decade. Choosing a favorite was tough, but you can’t start a Funko family without Funko Pop Dom #275
Released in 2017, this early Funko Pop figure has Dom in garage gear with the Toretta name tag. Despite the popularity of the movies, there were only two figures launched in this wave with Dom and Brian. Both have become popular with collectors and fans of the film. If you want to kick things up a notch, pick up POP! Rides #17 and Dom’s 1970 Charger.
- Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto
- Funko Fast & Furious collection
- POP! Movies #275
- Standard-size, yet larger than life...
POP! Movies Masked Predator
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest action stars in the world, and you can’t have an action movie list without mentioning his films. We’re big Terminator fans, but felt Predator was a natural fit for people interested in Funko Pops inspired by action movies.
There are more versions of “The Predator” than we can count, but the original is the best. You can own this vicious hunter in vinyl form with Funko Pop Movies Predator #482. This figure is from the Funko Specialty Series, and won’t frighten other figures in your collection as long as the mask stays on. If you want to add Arnie, consider the GameStop exclusive figure of Dutch.
- Masked Predator from the original film
- Funko Specialty series
- POP! Movies #482
- 3.5 inches tall
POP! Movies Bruce Lee – Enter the Dragon
Martial arts have played a part in many of the action films and TV shows we love today. The first person to bring that type of action to the masses was Bruce Lee. Good Bruce Lee collectibles are coveted by fans, and to say this POP! features the master in an iconic would be an understatement.
Funko Pop MOVIES #218 is a Bruce Lee figure from Enter the Dragon. This particular pop is an exclusive from Bait and the first Funko character of Bruce Lee. It’s also the most expensive figure of The Little Dragon outside of the Game of Death Figure which arrived the same year.
- Bruce Lee in an iconic pose
- Limited Edition
- POP! Movies #218
- Bait Exclusive
POP! Movies – Big Trouble in Little China Jack Burton
Kurt Russell has been in many memorable movies. A number of the characters he plays have ended up becoming Funko Pops as well. Our top pick goes back to the 80s when action movies were king, and a man named Jack Burton ran into some trouble driving the Pork Chop Express.
Big Trouble in Little China is a cult classic with countless one-liners and plenty of action. Jack Burton is the star of that film, and POP! Movies #151 could be the star of your collection. This pricey pop is another that continues to climb in price but would look amazing next to the POPS! of Thunder, Rain, Lighting, and Lo Pan.
- Kurt Russell as Jack Burton
- Cult classic collectible figure
- 2014 Funko release
- POP! Movies #151
Funko POP! Preacher
Until we get Gangs of London Funko Pops, the selection of figures based on Action TV shows is sparse. With that in mind, one of the most violent and action-packed shows of the past decade made an appearance with Funko through Preacher POPS!
Preacher was an adaption for TV based on the comic from Garth Ennis. It’s an ultra-violent yet religious tale. The show had the action of a John Wick movie when scenes called for it, but also had a True Blood kind of vibe. You can’t pick up Herr Starr as a Funko, but you can own this exclusive version of Jesse Custer #365 from GameStop.
- Jessie Custer from Preacher
- POP! Television #365
- Arms Out variant
- Game Stop Exclusive
The Wrap Up
Funko may not show as much respect for early action heroes like Rambo and Arnold as we would like. Their collection of Funko Pops inspired by action movies has gotten off to a good start, however. While we just listed 10 of the top options, there are more action movie figures available from Atomic Blonde and Mad Max to a popular due from the Bad Boys franchise.
