Chevy Bolt vs. Sony Afeela Ev: What’s the Difference?
Face to face, we have the cheapest vehicle on the market and a prototype that wants to be the face of a new generation of electric cars by 2026. They are indeed two very different models, although both have excellent features. Let’s break down their differences based on what we know so far.
Design
Just by looking at the layout of the Afeela, you can tell that the world’s leading technology companies are behind it, as the vehicle’s design is sleek and futuristic. It features a modern coupe shape and a LED front light that emphasize its progressive ambition.

The Chevy Bolt was launched in 2017 and honored a more traditional and spacious SUV design. It’s crazy to think that almost ten years will separate these two cars, as the Afeela is scheduled to be launched in 2026. These are two vehicles that represent two different generations of EVs.
Technology
Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) presented the Afeela EV as a futuristic car with a strong emphasis on innovative technology provided by tech companies. This vehicle will feature an enormous display covering its entire dashboard and a unique PS5 integration system.
Many of these inclusions will raise eyebrows among the public, as they are features that have more to do with entertainment than real driving needs.

Performance
Given the years between their releases, the performance gap between the two vehicles is unsurprisingly large. The Bolt came out in 2017, but each year Chevrolet made new versions that were faster, safer, and more comfortable.
One aspect that Chevrolet improved is the capacity and range of the Bolt’s battery. In 2017, it was 60 kWh, while its 2023 model has a total of 65 kWh. Currently, this means approximately 259 miles of range.
Meanwhile, SHM has not revealed too many details about the battery and technical aspects of the Afeela. Experts estimate its battery will have about 100 kWh, giving it a range of about 310 miles, but this is an unofficial estimate.

Chevy Bolt: Affordable and Efficient
The 2023 version of the Bolt is the most affordable electric car you will find on the market. This is not to say it is substandard; on the contrary, it has always combined lower prices with unprecedented efficiency.
In 2017, the Bolt was the only electric car under $50,000 with a range greater than 200 miles. Today, the 2023 model boasts an excellent range of 259 miles.
On the other hand, Chevrolet improved certain aspects of the design version by version, such as the interior materials and displays. Furthermore, the company redesigned the seats and revealed a massive hatchback’s rear cargo space. Overall, this is an excellent value-for-money vehicle.
