Luckily, living in Indiana doesn’t mean you can’t have decent cell service. In fact, we’re talking about six of the best cell phone plans in Indiana.

#1: AT&T

AT&T is coming out as the clear winner for Indiana residents, mainly because the company claims they cover 100% of the state. And while AT&T also has a few major prepaid plans, the company’s three postpaid plans tend to be the most popular. These plans are Starter, Extra, and Premium.

First, before we dive into the three different plans and what they offer, it’s important to note that all three plans offer unlimited texts and calls to over 120 countries. They also all offer unlimited 4G LTE data. But with that being said, they do have a few key differences.

The Starter plan is the cheapest plan with AT&T and is $65 for one line. The biggest downside to this plan is that it doesn’t offer any hotspot data. However, if you add multiple lines, your bill goes down with each line. For example, while one line is $65, four lines are $35 each. That’s almost 50% savings.

The Extra plan includes everything the Starter plan has, plus 50GB of premium 4G LTE and 5G access. You’ll also get 15GB of hotspot per line. This plan is $10 more expensive at $75 for one line, or $40 per month per line if you get four lines.

Last but not least, the Premium plan includes everything the Extra plan has, plus 100GB premium 4G LTE and 5G access, and 30GB of hotspot per line. This plan also offers high-definition streaming on your device. It’s the most expensive plan at $85 for one line and $50 per line per month for four lines.

#2: Verizon

Verizon is up next, covering 99.98% of Indiana, with 54.81% of residents having access to 5G. But unlike AT&T, Verizon doesn’t have as many plans and options to choose from. They offer two main plans: Unlimited Welcome and Unlimited Plus.

Both plans are fairly similar and offer unlimited texting, calling, and data. However, there are a few differences to be aware of.

The Unlimited Welcome plan doesn’t include any hotspot data. And at $65 a month for a single line, it’s fairly expensive to not have any extras included. But if you’re willing to pay $80 for a single line, the Plus plan comes with 30GB of data and 5G Ultra Wideband access.

Luckily, Verizon offers discounts for family and multi-line plans. You can also get discounts on your monthly plans if you’re in the military, or if you work as a nurse, teacher, or first responder.

#3: T-Mobile

T-Mobile isn’t as widespread as AT&T or Verizon. The company only covers around 99.05% of Indiana. However, where T-Mobile shines is in offering 5G coverage and service to over 95.60% of residents, which beats out AT&T and Verizon by far. So, if 5G service is important to you, it’s time to make the switch.

T-Mobile has main two plans: Magenta and Magenta Max. But they also have an Essentials plan for those who want to keep things, well, simple. The Essentials plan is $50 for one line and comes with unlimited talk and text.

It also comes with unlimited data and unlimited 3G hotspot data. And, if you’re over the age of 55, you’ll get a discount on your line.

However, if you want more from your plan, like 4G mobile hotspot and premium data, you’ll want either the Magenta or Magenta Max plan. The Magenta plan includes 100GB of premium data and 5GB of 5G hotspot data.

You’ll also get a Netflix subscription and Apple TV+ for 6 months free. This plan is $70 for one line. The Magenta Max plan includes unlimited everything, including premium data and hotspot. This plan costs significantly more at $85 for one line per month.

But it also comes with Netflix, Apple TV+, and 4K streaming as long as you have the line. You’ll also get a discount on your plan if you’re a first responder, in the military, or over 55.

#4: Tello

If you don’t like being attached to contracts, you can use an MVNO like Tello and still receive decent coverage. This company offers great speeds and coverage because it uses T-Mobile’s towers. But it’s significantly cheaper.

There are four different plans to choose from, including Economy, Value, Smart, and Data. Economy is the cheapest at $10 a month. It offers 1GB of data and unlimited texts and calls.

Value offers 2GB of data and unlimited everything else for $14 a month. Smart offers everything the other two plans offer, with 5GB of data for $19 a month. And, last but not least, Data offers unlimited everything for $29 a month.

No matter which plan you choose, you can call over 60 different countries with Tello, including Canada and Mexico. Each plan also includes hotspot data.

The major cons with Tello is that it doesn’t offer a family plan, and the prices you see don’t include taxes and fees. But if you’re okay with having a multi-line plan and paying a few extra dollars each month, it’s a great option.

#5: Visible

Visible is an MVNO of Verizon and a fairly new company. The biggest “perk” the company talks about is that you don’t need to be in a family to get a decent phone plan. Because of this, the company only offers single-line plans.

Visible offers two plans: the regular Visible plan and Visible Plus. The first plan is just $30 a month and offers unlimited everything, including talk and text to Canada and Mexico.

The $45 Plus plan includes everything the regular plan does, but also includes international calling to 30+ countries and texting to 200+ countries.

A major perk with Visible is that they also have a referral plan. If you recommend a friend to Visible, you’ll get $20 off your next month’s bill. However, remember that you don’t get any discounts for adding more lines, and it’s not even possible to have a multi-line plan.

The company offers Android and iPhones, plus quite a few low-cost options for those that don’t need a smartphone. However, some of these phones are costly and you do have to pay for them upfront.

#6: Boost Mobile

Boost Mobile is another MVNO, and it runs off of T-Mobile’s towers. So, you’ll get decent access to 5G for less, as long as you’re okay with being deprioritized when times get busy.

While Boost Mobile offers five different plans, with the cheapest starting at $5 a month, we’re going to be talking about the most popular three.

The first is the 2GB plan, which offers unlimited text and talk, plus 2GB of data. You can also use the 2GB of data via a hotspot. This plan is just $10 a month, but we’d only recommend it if you always plan on being on Wi-Fi.

The next plan is the 5GB plan, which is $15 a month. It offers the same unlimited text and talk as the 2GB plan. But it offers more data.

Last but not least, the Unlimited plan is the most expensive one at $25 a month per line. But it also includes unlimited everything, including regular data and hotspot data.
