Florida is known for quite a few perks, like beaches and Disney World. But did you also know that cell service is widely available? And not just from one carrier, but from quite a few options! Here are the six best cell phone plans in Florida that you could choose from.

Of course, while we’re listing these cell phone plans, keep in mind that these aren’t the only options. These are just our favorites based on our research.

#1: T-Mobile

T-Mobile is one of the best cell phone carriers in Florida if you’re looking to switch to 5G — and offers 99.81% coverage. And while we’ve mentioned the two popular plans Magenta and Magenta Max before, there are two other up-and-coming plans that you may want to choose from.

The first is the Go5G plan. For a single line, you’ll spend $75 a month. It’s similar to the Magenta line, but you’ll get 15GB of hotspot versus 5GB. And you’ll still get unlimited calling and texting, plus 10GB of hotspot if you travel to Canada or Mexico.

The second plan, Go5G Plus, is the next step up from the Go5G plan. It’s similar to the Magenta Max plan and offers similar benefits. This includes Apple TV Plus and a Netflix subscription.

But you’ll also get 50GB of hotspot and 15GB of hotspot in Canada and Mexico. This plan is $85 per month per line. No matter which plan you choose, you can get a discount if you’re 55 and over.

#2: Verizon

If you’re living in a more rural area or don’t care about 5G right now, Verizon offers 99.88% of coverage across the state, and 4G LTE for all users. The company offers many different prepaid and postpaid plans, but we’ll only be talking about the postpaid plans.

The first plan is the 500 MB plan. This is the cheapest at $30 a month per line, but it doesn’t offer much. First, it only offers 500MB of data each month, along with unlimited texts and calls. But if you don’t plan to use much data, it could be a great option for you.

If you need more data, or need hotspot options, the next option is the Get More Unlimited plan. This plan is significantly more expensive at $90 for a single line. But, you can pay as little as $50 per line if you get 4 or more lines.

This plan offers 50GB of premium 5G data, along with many streaming perks. These include access to Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, an Apple Music subscription, and 600GB of Verizon’s cloud storage.

Also, keep in mind that you can get discounts for family plans, or if you work in the military, as a nurse, as a teacher, or as a first responder.

#3: AT&T

Before we dive into the plans themselves with AT&T, it’s worth noting that AT&T tends to run quite a few phone promotions. So, if your main reason for switching to a phone carrier is to get a new phone for cheap, AT&T may be your best option.

At least for a little while! For example, they’re currently offering the Google Pixel 7 for $5 a month or $700 off the iPhone 14.

Outside of the great phone options, AT&T also has a coverage area of 99.89% in Florida. And they offer three different postpaid options. The first is the Unlimited Starter plan, which is $65 per month for a single line.

This base plan is the cheapest postpaid option and offers unlimited everything, including 5G data. Just remember that AT&T can slow down your speeds if there is network congestion.

The next plan is Unlimited Extra, which is $10 more per month at $75 a month for a single line. You’ll get everything that the Starter plan has, plus 15GB of hotspot data.

The last option is the Unlimited Premium plan, which is the most expensive at $85 a month for a single line. You’ll get all of the benefits of the Starter plan, plus 50GB of mobile hotspot. And, unlike with the other plans, you won’t experience any deprioritization.

#4: Google Fi

Launched in 2015, Google Fi is a great MVNO that works with both T-Mobile and US Cellular towers. So, it has the same amount of coverage but charges less for the same service.

The biggest downside to using Google Fi is the issue you’ll see with certain phones. If you don’t use a Fi-approved device, you won’t be able to switch between network towers and will only be able to work with T-Mobile connectivity. This can be a problem if you’re in a more rural area of Florida.

Outside of that con, Google Fi offers two plans: Flexible and Unlimited. The Flexible plan is the cheapest option at $20 per month for a single line, and $15 per line after the first. However, this plan only includes unlimited texting and calling. If you want data, you’ll need to pay $10 per 1GB.

The Unlimited plan is $70 per month for a single line and offers much more than the Flexible plan for those who use their phones heavily. It offers unlimited everything, including data. However, after 22GB of data, your data usage may be deprioritized. You’ll also get a Google One cloud storage membership for free.

While Google Fi doesn’t necessarily have any family plans, it does offer a multi-line plan. And, you can get discounts with each line that you add to either the Flexible or Unlimited options.

#5: Mint Mobile

You’ve most likely seen those funny commercials about Mint Mobile from its owner, Mr. Deadpool himself. However, Mint Mobile is fairly decent when it comes to a cell phone company.

First, it’s an MVNO that works with T-Mobile towers, so you’ll be able to pay less and still get 5G service if it’s available. And, Mint Mobile has many different prepaid plan options — four, to be exact! The main difference between the plans is how much data you’ll get each month.

The plans are as follows: 5GB, 15GB, 20GB, and Unlimited. Each plan offers unlimited texts and calls, and then the data is based on your plan.

For example, if you sign up for the 15GB plan, you’ll get 15GB of premium data. When it comes to the Unlimited plan, though, you’ll get 40GB of premium 5G data before it drops to 3G or 4G.

Depending on the plan you choose, you could pay as little as $15 a month per line. However, since Mint Mobile is a prepaid phone plan, you’ll have to pay for at least 3 months in advance. If you pay for a full year (12 months), you can get additional discounts.

#6: US Mobile

Last but not least, US Mobile is another great cell phone carrier that offers decently priced plans. Also, US Mobile is an MVNO that works with Verizon’s and T-Mobile’s networks, so you’ll get service just about everywhere you go in Florida.

US Mobile offers quite a few different plans, but we’re only going to cover the top three options: Unlimited Basic, Unlimited Talk & Text, and Unlimited Premium.

The Unlimited Basic plan offers unlimited talk, text, and data. It also offers 5GB of hotspot, so it’s a great option for people who use their phones quite a bit. And it’s just $35 per month per line.

The Unlimited Talk & Text plan is similar to the basic plan but only offers 5GB of data instead of unlimited data. However, it’s also only $10 a month, so it’s a great option for those who don’t need all the bells and whistles.

The last option is the Unlimited Premium plan. This includes unlimited everything, just like the basic plan. The key difference between the two plans is that the premium plan also offers 50GB of hotspot. It’s the most expensive plan at $45 a month per line, but that’s not bad when compared to other phone carriers!

US Mobile also offers family plans, which include perks if you get three or more lines. If you choose three lines, you’ll get one free subscription, and four or more lines will get you two free subscriptions. You can choose between Netflix, Disney+, Spotify Family, or Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

Plan on having more than one line? Try to get a discount! While some carriers don’t offer multi-line or family plans, many do. And these plans can save you hundreds each year!

Data Availability
