Why Should You Buy the ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 Laptop?

2-in-1 laptops are versatile devices that can be used as laptops or tablets. They’re designed to be portable, with slimmer profiles and lightweight components. They also typically include a stylus so users can write and sketch directly on the screen when it’s in tablet mode.

ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 Laptop

The ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 laptop’s biggest selling point is undoubtedly its 13.3-inch OLED display, which has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The display has also been PANTONE Validated and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, so it’s ideal for watching movies, creating digital art, and editing photos and videos.

The full-sized keyboard is detachable. The stylus is ideal for drawing, with 4096 pressure levels and a 266Hz sampling rate. The pressure level allows the stylus to detect 4096 levels of pressure so you can create very nuanced drawing strokes. The sampling rate lets the stylus track even rapid drawing or writing movements accurately and smoothly.

Other features include:

  • 13MP rear camera
  • 5MP front camera
  • Fingerprint detector
  • MicroSD card reader

Is the ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 Laptop Worth It?

We compared the ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 Laptop (list price $749.99) with two similar 2-in-1 laptops: the Acer Spin 5 14 ($849.99) and the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3i ($299.99).

The ASUS VivoBook’s display is smaller than the Acer Spin’s, but its image quality is better. The Lenovo’s screen is the smallest in this roundup.

The Acer has the best processor, while the Lenovo’s is the least powerful. The ASUS VivoBook’s process is a good option for light day-to-day tasks such as surfing the internet, checking email, and word processing, but it’s not powerful enough for more complex and demanding tasks such as video editing or gaming.

The ASUS VivoBook is in second place with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD. The Lenovo IdeaPad is a distant third with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB eMMC storage.

The Acer also has the best battery life (up to 15 hours) compared to the ASUS VivoBook (up to 12 hours) and the Lenovo (up to 10 hours).

The only clear advantage that the ASUS VivoBook has is its OLED display. The Acer Spin 5 14 beats it in every other category. That being said, the Acer has a list price of $849.99 and the ASUS VivoBook’s list price is $100 less. At its current sale price of $499.99, we think the ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED 2-in-1 Laptop is worth considering if you don’t plan to use it for complex, demanding tasks.
