While they seem similar on the surface, these two CPUs have specific aspects that make them decidedly different. This section will teach you more about what makes them better or worse for various uses.
Clock Speeds

At first glance, the more significant difference between these two CPUs is the price tag, and after careful thought, we can say that is mostly true.
The decision mostly comes down to budget: if you do not want to spend too much, the Ryzen 5 5600x will perform the same, or even outperform the i7, for far less. However, it does not come with integrated graphics, which can make you spend several hundred dollars on a separate GPU.
If you can allow yourself to spend more and like the freedom of having more cores, the i7 10700k is a solid choice. Because this processor does include its own GPU, you will not have to worry about spending anything more.
