Key Facts
- Google does not usually reveal devices months before their release
- However Gadgetfull BD, a technology shop based in Bangladesh uploaded a Facebook video in which a user unboxed a brand-new phone.
- Although the video has since been taken down, fans got to take photos of the video and insist that the phone shown is none other that the Pixel Pro 7.
The Pixel 7 Pro is the newest edition to the Pixel line-up slated for release this year. Despite their best efforts, the Pixel 7 Pro seems to have been accidentally leaked in a brand-new video. Historically, top-of-the-line smartphones are kept under maximum security, but it seems like the newest slip-up from Google may leave nothing to the imagination!
Google Conferences

Google has historically held two conferences each year: Google I/O and Made By Google. Google I/O is usually more software-focused, but the company has begun releasing sneak peeks of its upcoming products during the software-centric gathering. Google I/O is always held during the Spring, while Made by Google is held in late September or October.
This year, like almost every other year, Google plans on releasing all of the information for their newest Pixel (along with their other hardware) at their Made by Google conference. As it stands, the date for Made by Google is October 6th, in Brooklyn, New York.
Pixel 7 Pro: Teaser Clip
But this year, things were a bit strange. Google released a teaser clip of their Pixel 7 Pro during the I/O conference, leading many to believe more information was coming. As a general rule, companies don’t release high-fidelity footage of their phones months before the release date. What’s more, reported leaks of the Pixel 7 Pro have been circulating, with many believed to be legit.
Pixel 7 Pro: Key Elements
The most comprehensive leak so far came from an unboxing video that surfaced on Facebook from Gadgetfull BD, a technology shop based in Bangladesh. In the video, we see someone taking out a brand-new phone and twirling it around for all to see.
#1: Design
There are two things that make this video so compelling. First, the design of the phone is extremely similar to the animated video that was released by Google themselves. Notably, the rear camera bar on the leaked phone is made of shiny metal and has two camera holes, one double hole and one single one.
In all of the previous phones that Google has made, this particular design hasn’t been seen. Older phones have a black glass camera bump, with the camera lenses being tough to see. In the leaked footage AND the official animation, the bump is chrome and has distinct cutouts.
#2: Software
The second reason why this may be legit is the software. In the video, the man holding the phone boots it up and films the loading screen. From what we can see, the loading screen and device set-up screen are identical to how Android runs on Pixel devices. Together, the case seems pretty convincing.
Pixel 7 Pro: The Legitimacy of the Leak
The video has since been taken down. Still, photos of the leak exist, and people have been quick to assume that the leak was legit. Google doesn’t have a great history of keeping things under wraps, so it makes sense that leaks will continue to crop up as we move closer to October 6th.
If you are interested in the Pixel 7 Pro, the official release event is less than two weeks away! Even if the leak was legit, it clearly wasn’t a production unit, leaving some mystery about the phone intact.
