Design
A headphone’s design goes beyond just its appearance. It also involves other factors like ergonomics, build quality, and the materials used in construction. The best headphones balance these elements. So, you get a product that is not only visually appealing, but also functional and durable.
AirPods Max comes in five colors, silver, space gray, sky blue, pink, and blue, whereas Jabra Evolve2 75 is available only in two colors, black and beige. We can argue that the latter doesn’t have as many color options because of its use case application, but we can also say the same lifestyle-oriented AirPods Max. The varied possibilities of the AirPods Max make it suitable for those who desire a minimalist look ideal for office settings. However, it is still suitable for those who would instead wish for hippy colors.
The lightweight design of the Jabra Evolve2 75 is a win as far as comfort goes. At 197g, it doesn’t weigh you down even after hours of use. It also features dual foam technology, a combination of hard foam used in the exterior and soft foam used in the interior of the ear cushions. The balance in densities guarantees a secure fit while optimizing the audio experience.
AirPods Max is quite heavy. At 384.8g, it might not be the best fit for those who want to use it for long hours. However, it features a canopy that spans around the headband, designed with breathable knit mesh to reduce pressure on the head. Another design feature that makes it stand out is the mesh textile that wraps around the ear and provides a pillow-like softness when listening.
Sound Quality
Sound quality is the most crucial aspect when selecting headphones because it directly affects the listening experience. Fortunately, both headphones offer astounding sound quality, but some differences exist.
AirPods Max is a premium over-ear headphone that emphasizes a well-balanced sound with deep bass and clear highs. It features an Apple-designed dynamic driver responsible for delivering high-quality sound output. This driver is paired with an adaptive equalization technology, the Adaptive EQ, which continuously analyzes your music and automatically adjusts the low and mid frequencies. The result is a rich and dynamic sound tailored to the specific audio content, providing a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience.
In contrast, the Jabra Evolve2 75 is a noise-canceling headset that emphasizes clear call quality and has more substantial noise-reduction capabilities.
Noise Cancellation
The AirPods Max and the Jabra Evolve2 75 both have noise cancellation features, but the level of noise cancellation may vary. The AirPods Max uses an adaptive algorithm that adjusts noise cancellation to the environment and user’s ear shape, offering a highly effective noise-canceling experience.
The Jabra Evolve2 75 has much stronger noise cancellation capabilities. The gadget has 11 settings you can customize to tailor your needs using the Jabra Sound+ app. You create your focus or concentration zone through these settings, even when in a crowded or noisy area. This feature makes it an ideal headphone for professional use cases.
Only the AirPods Max has the transparency feature, allowing users to hear the surroundings while still on their headphones. This feature can be helpful for people who need to be aware of their surroundings for safety reasons or those who want to listen to music and also hear announcements or have conversations without removing their headphones.

Battery Life
A longer battery life means you can use your headphones for extended periods. This is desirable when traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, or when a power source is unavailable.
The difference in battery life between the two models is quite massive. AirPods Max promises up to 20 hours of juice with the Active Noise cancellation Feature (ANC) turned on. You also get 20 hours of talk time with a single charge, and the same when playing movies with Spatial Audio enabled. Charging the AirPods Max for five minutes will give you about an hour and a half of listening.
With the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) off, the Jabra Evolve2 75 provides up to 36 hours of music playback. With ANC on, the music playback time reduces to 33 hours. The talk time of the headset is up to 24 hours with both the ANC and Busylight turned off but reduces to 18 hours if both features are turned on. It takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes to charge a Jabra Evolve2 75 fully.
- Feature optimal voice transmission thanks to advanced 8-microphone technology
- Feature extra soft cushions
- Up to 36 hrs of battery life
- Engineered for easier connections, smoother navigation, and seamless interaction with colleagues
Price
AirPods Max’s pricing is straightforward. For whatever color you choose, all you have to pay is $549. As for the Jabra Evolve2 75, the pricing is different for the two color options.
For instance, if you select black, choose USB-A or USB-C for the connectivity option, and do not opt for the charging stand, you’ll pay $403.00. Inclusive of the stand, you’ll pay $461.00. The beige option doesn’t include the charging stand, so the price is a constant $403.00.
Still, the AirPod Max is the most expensive option. So, if you decide to buy it, ask yourself whether you are getting value for money. For instance, are the features in tandem with the pricing, or are you losing? It’s always good to pick what you can afford or in your budget range.
Features
Fans of touch controls don’t have anything to smile about because neither headphone offers this feature. The AirPods Max uses the Digital Crown to control volume and media playback, while the Jabra Evolve2 75 has physical buttons. Although the physical buttons are easily accessible, the Digital Crown adds to the overall aesthetics of the headphones.
While the AirPods Max comes with Siri, the AI voice assistant, Jabra Evolve2 75 features Alexa built-in. Perhaps the most exciting additional feature of Jabra Evovle2 75 is its compatibility with custom software and application. The headphone comes with Jabra Direct, Jabra Express, and Jabra Sound+ software and apps for added convenience.
AirPods Max uses Bluetooth version 5.0 technology, whereas the Jabra Evolve2 75 uses a much stronger Bluetooth version 5.2 wireless technology. While it wouldn’t affect sound quality, expect to save much lower power consumption with the latter.
